Be still // Fique quieto

Tradução em Portugues Aqui How are you? How would you describe your emotional state right now? Are you happy, content with your day? Or are you worried? Did something bad happen? How are you really? Can you sing this song with me? 1 My heart is not proud, Lord,     my eyes are not haughty;   I do not concern myself with great matters     or things too wonderful for me. 2 But I have calmed and quieted myself,     I am like a weaned child with its mother;     like a weaned child I am content. 3 Israel, put your hope in the Lord     both now and forevermore. Psalms 131 I have to admit. It is hard. Especially when we are in troubled water of life. When I was living with problems I listened to pastors preach, and read the bible, but I couldn’t get myself to stop worrying. Later, after many years I finally got it. I learned that worrying doesn’t help. But if...

is that a joke? // É uma piada?

“ Do you know the greatest thing about the world today? It’s what people think of God and Satan and all the angels and demons, It’s not that they openly disbelieve, Chris. It takes strength to do that, a strength like you have. But no. Most people are indifferent. Most people are busy. …They view God as some all-powerful buffoon. They view the Devil as a silly magician with horns and a pitchfork who raises his voice but, in the end, really doesn’t do anything. Time and time again God and Satan are put into tiny little boxes that people watch at the end of the day. But when it comes right down to it, they’re no longer afraid, are they? They’re more afraid of hurricane and stock market or a villain in a Batman movie than they are of these beings they’ve made caricatures. …Nowadays, the supernatural and the spiritual blend in with the superficial and the simple-minded. Everything is a joke. Nothing is real. Nothing means anything… of course, God is real. Even tho...

Be glad, don't waste your time // Alegre-se, não perca seu tempo

“Do all things without grumbling or disputing, that you may be blameless and innocent, children of God without blemish in the midst of a crooked and twisted generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world…” Philippians 2:14 – 16 Paul was in prison when he wrote this letter, yet he writes a letter full of joy, with hope knowing that whatever happened next, he would be ok. If he would leave the prison alive, he would go back to his ministry, if he was condemned, he would be meeting Jesus. Isn’t that wonderful live like that? Full of hope and peace that no matter what you will be ok. However, it is not easy to be always full of joy and be rejoicing. There was a time in my life that I thought I had to have control of everything. I had a planner filled with meetings and many other things throughout the week/month/year. Even with all the planning, I was wasting my time. I don’t remember much of that year, besides the fact that I was busy and some bad...

There's no perfect family // Não há família perfeita

In the pictures, we all can look like as a perfect family. Are we really? There is no perfect family, or perfect relationship or whatever perfect. Simply because we have sinned. When God created man and woman, He wanted them to be perfect and gave to them all what they needed to make it perfect. But they rejected, they chose greed, they believe in a lie and they disobeyed. That’s why we cannot be perfects, not yet. “But if we love one another, God lives in us, and his love is perfected in us” 1 John 4:12 . This is the secret of having a perfect relationship. Supposing that you know what the word love in this context means. Paul described love in 1 Corinthians 13; he also said in Colossians 3:13-14 “bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other: as the Lord has forgiven you, so you must forgive . And above all these put on love which binds everything together in perfect harmony ”. Relationships can’t be always ...

He paid the price // Ele pagou o preço

“But the king said to Araunah, ‘No, but I will buy it from you for a price. I will not offer a burnt offering to my God that cost me nothing’ ( 2 Samuel 24:24 )”. David had done something that kindles the Lord’s anger, and because of that, the people were suffering (read the who chapter 24), and David felt guilty for he knew whose blame was. In exchange of that, to free the people from the pestilence, he decided to pay a price; Jesus did the same. To free the people from the slavery of sin, He decided to pay the price. Jesus paid a higher price for a larger amount of people; for all of us, Jesus paid the price, a price of blood. He, like a lamb, had to shed his blood as a living sacrifice, suffering the most horrible death to rescue us from the LORD’s wrath. Jesus, by doing that redeemed everyone who believes in Him from the Wrath of God, which will come as a final judgment. There are so many demonstrations in the Bible about redemption, and ...

All of you towards one another // De todos vocês para um com o outro

“Likewise, you who are younger, be subject to the elders. Clothe yourselves, all of you , with humility towards one another for God opposes the proud but gives graces to the humble. 1 Peter 5:5”. This verse is not only talking to the younger. But to ALL OF YOU. You who is leader, older, wiser, more experienced, better résumé, whatever degree of superiority you think you have, or you do have indeed, you are also included. Clothe yourselves, ALL OF YOU, with HUMILITY TOWARDS ONE ANOTHER. Here your position doesn’t count much. Do you think you have been humiliated enough? Sorry, you are not the who decided when is enough. Because God opposes the proud. Until you learn how to be truly humble, I’m guessing the humiliation will keep coming, if you want to receive His grace. Be humble according to the thesaurus – marked by meekness or modesty in behavior, attitude or spirit; not arrogant or prideful. Showing deferential or submissive respect. If you think y...

Are you having a bad day? // Está tendo um dia ruim?

“67 Before I was afflicted I went astray,     but now I obey your word. 68 You are good, and what you do is good;     teach me your decrees. 71 It was good for me to be afflicted     so that I might learn your decrees. 72 The law from your mouth is more precious to me  than thousands of pieces of silver and gold. Psalm 119: 67 – 68, 71 – 72 ” The story of my life. Before I have fibromyalgia I went astray, but now (many years later) I obey your word. Some people find hard to accept what the world may call fate. I say that sometimes it is teachings. We all should learn something new, every day. What new have you learned today? Were you able to hold your tongue? Or even your thoughts? Did you regret anything? Someone said something to you that made you stop and think? Or you are the kind that you think you are always right, that you have the right, that you deserve, because… But when something bad ...
