Are you proud? // Você é orgulhoso?

One more time I am going to talk about pride. What is it about pride nowadays? Why do people pride themselves to say they're proud people? Satan loves when people pride themselves on anything. Why? Because pride hinders repentance, and repentance is the only way Jesus can be with you. No repentance there is no forgiveness, no forgiveness no transformation, no faith, no salvation,.    Pride is like a wall built to block any work of the Holy Spirit. It doesn't matter how much you say that you believed in God, love Jesus, or anything... if you are filled with pride.  If you can't see the real you. You are too prideful to see the sin that you have made. Sin gets behind the pride.   Pride only lets you see others' mistakes, not yours. You are too good to make mistakes. You're too holy, too hypocritical to see your own sin. You say that you are a sinner, but you can't see your sins, because your pride won't let you. You know that you have sinned, but what was it...

I saw the light // Eu vi a luz

“12  When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said,   “I am   the light of the world.   Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” (John 8:12)   Have you noticed when you are in a real dark place, with no lights on, your eyes get used to the darkness. This happens because we have some specialized cells in our retina that allow our eyes to see a little bit in the darkness. Could we live in darkness? Hmm.. studies say we could. It is not ideal however. I’d say we would get bored pretty fast.    When we are in a dark place for a while, when the light are turned on suddenly (it doesn’t really matter if it is by surprise or not), we feel rather an uncomfortable experience. I would not say painful but uncomfortable, until our eyes get used again to the light.    My point is this: people get used doing what they think is good and right, but not in the sight of God. They prefer being the judge of themselv...

Psalm 23 // Salmo 23

Psalm 23  Who had never heard about Psalm 23? I can that everybody must have heard this at least once in life.  Very cliché to say that it is my favorite Psalm.  I’m gonna tell you why. But first, if by any chance you haven’t read it yet. Shall we?   Psalm 23   The LORD Is My Shepherd   A Psalm of David.               [1] The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.             [2]        He makes me lie down in green pastures.             He leads me beside still waters.             [3]        He restores my soul.             He leads me in paths of righteousness  ...

are all God's fault? // É tudo culpa de Deus?

We often hear people complaining to God, or even doubting God according to their/others' experiences. "It is God's fault for all the wickedness in the world. The hunger, the evilness, the climate change, God should do something about it".  Really? Why would he?   If there are rich people everybody assumes they are blessed. If walking down the street it is easy to think that my problems are the only ones that overwhelm or... I am all alone.   We see injustice all around us. We see bad people doing great at life, and we see good people, faithful-to-God people struggling day-by-day. Is it a lottery? I don’t like to think so.    (Job 21:7 -15) 7 “Why do the wicked live on,     growing old and increasing in power? 8 They see their children established around them,     their offspring before their eyes. 9 Their homes are safe and free from fear;     the rod of God is not on them. 10...
