Feliz 2019



Hoje é o último dia de 2018, imagino que todo mundo está se preparando para comemorar a virada do calendário. Imagino também que em algum momento você vai parar para avaliar o que alcançou ou não esse ano, e o que você vai fazer par alcançar nesse novo ano. É uma nova chance que Deus está te dando. Eu espero que antes de que seja festa, seja um momento de reflexão. Não apenas de metas, mas de compromisso principalmente consigo mesmo. Que antes que seja você, o outro seja de pelo menos igual importância; que haja mais planejamento financeiro e de tempo.

"O livro de Tiago está repleto de comandos práticos para uma vida cristã autêntica. Em sua carta, Tiago, irmão de Jesus, instruiu os cristãos a controlarem suas línguas, demorando-se a irar-se e a lutar contra a ambição egoísta. Mas James não estava interessado em simplesmente compartilhar uma lista de coisas que os cristãos não deveriam fazer - ele também incluiu vários mandamentos positivos para os crentes.

Assim como Jesus passou a maior parte de seu ministério entre os negligenciados pela sociedade, os seguidores de Jesus são ordenados a cuidar e mostrar preocupação por pessoas órfãs e viúvas, pessoas desprivilegiadas e por irmãos e irmãs pecadores. Tiago colocou uma ênfase específica nos crentes emulando o ministério cotidiano de Jesus em suas próprias vidas, mostrando compaixão pelos quebrantados de coração e pobres e evitando o pecado.

Os discípulos de Jesus não devem apenas ouvir as palavras de Jesus; eles devem procurar ativamente oportunidades para envolver o mundo com sua mensagem de mudança de vida. Assim como com Jesus, os relacionamentos de um crente com os outros - seja família, amigos, colegas de trabalho ou uma pessoa que está implorando nas ruas - devem ser definidos por amor, misericórdia, paciência e graça.

Jesus, por favor, abra meus olhos para como você quer que eu ame aqueles que nossa sociedade esqueceu e negligenciou. Me dê uma oportunidade de se envolver significativamente com alguém, em seu nome, amém."

  The Word of the Lord is beautiful and true. In there, you find so many poems. This is the form the Bible authors chose to communicate the Word of the LORD, and it is profound. I’ve been listening to the Bible Project podcast for more than a year now. Lately, they are covering the theme of “The Wilderness”. Now, everywhere I read in the Scripture, I see something related to it. It is amazing. I am now in the book of the prophet Isaiah, chapter 43. And guess what? It is wonderful. Just in the first few verses, you find that God is telling His people that it doesn’t matter what sort of hardship they are going through, He, the Creator, will deliver them. Actually, it is said like this: “When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, nor shall the flame scorch you. For I am the LORD your God, The Holy One of Israel, your Savior....

The oppressive urge to speak // A necessidade opressiva de falar

  Should I keep quiet forever? Is silence that bad? Can’t I stand my own thoughts that I need to say out loud? What kind of thoughts come to my mind? Are they generally good or bad?
