I don’t know but lately, I feel like it is almost time to let go of this blog too. There is time for everything under the heavens. This year was a time to write and witness to everyone who didn’t know or had doubt about my faith in Christ. I take it very seriously, especially now. It is true that many people have known me in a very different time of my life, which I am not proud of it. But I want to believe that if I wasn’t in that way we may have never met or even become friends. And for that I am glad. I value all the friendships that I have since I was a little girl. I consider myself a good friend. I have also improved myself as a good listener, not so much a good talker. There is time to listen and time to talk, I suppose. The experience of writing this blog has opened my eyes to the Scriptures, and I am thankful for that. I am not sure if I will keep writing on a regular basis. I have already slowed down a little bit. The end of the year is almost here. So, many people tend to think about what they have accomplished during the year. Or children they maybe analyze if they were good kids during the year so they can get gifts from “Santa”. In the book of Revelation, there are 7 letters written to seven churches. Sometimes I like to think if each of these churches represents a type of person. I wonder every time I read where I fit in those descriptions. We all have done good things and bad things. God knows all of them. But what caught my eyes this time was the sentence: “the one who conquers”. It got me thinking, who are the people who conquer and what do they conquer? What kind of parents would you like to have? The one leaves you alone and free, so you can do whatever you wanted, the kind of who doesn’t teach you about accountability. Or you would rather have the kind of one who set boundaries, rules, and consequences for each action? Well, if you are a teenager, you maybe would like to have the kind of parents who let you be free, with no rules and no consequences. But you know deep inside in real life, everything has consequences. And you know that you need skills that you by yourselves cannot get them unless someone teaches you, and to learn something, it has to have discipline and discipline implies rules, and rules imply consequences. So, now you might have changed your mind, and acknowledge that the best parents to have are the ones who set boundaries and rules and consequences. I was borne in a Christian family, as many people that I have known. During my life, I saw many of my friends that just like I, were also borne in a Christian family drift away from God’s way. Then later in a way or another, they came back from their pilgrimage in the world to the church, his family church. I also had my ways, I also drifted in a more subtle way. I also questioned God and the whole thing. I don’t think it was an unhealthy thing to do, I mean the questioning. It was unhealthy what I chose to do with my life instead. What it was simply a way to see how sin can creep in without being noticed and take anyone far away from God. The unhealthy things I did also just served the purpose to show me how sin can mistake a person, it causes illusion, one thinks that everything is all right, and doing what is supposed to. When we think about Jesus, and all his work on earth, we realize that He really came as the Servant, to accomplish the most difficult task ever asked. He came with a mission. His mission was to redeem human beings from sin. The human race has fallen short in the sight of the LORD, their Creator. Jesus came to take them back, not by force, but by a huge demonstration of love and obedience. He felt the weight of the sin on his shoulders during his way to the Calvary. The cross, the wood does not measure up to the weight of our sins. He cried out to His Father because He felt what it meant to be apart from Him. The world’s sins were on Him.
