Two verses stood out for me this morning. John 7:17-18 and 7:24. “Anyone who chooses to do the will of God will find out whether my teaching comes from God or whether I speak on my own. 18 Whoever speaks on their own does so to gain personal glory, but he who seeks the glory of the one who sent him is a man of truth; there is nothing false about him.”John 7:24 “Stop judging by mere appearances, but instead judge correctly.”
That was Jesus talking. I lately heard that some people with vast knowledge of the Bible (we all want to believe) are being led astray through the vain doctrines of this world. Meaning, that some church leaders or people have earned the people's trust by telling them lies about the teachings of the Bible. People seek their own popularity by agreeing with the lies the world has offered them. I have seen churches with flags and teaching doctrines that the Bible condemns. They have twisted the Word of God to be more acceptable and palatable for those who want to live according to their own will and pleasures, yet they want to make God accept their new doctrines. They have forgotten that God doesn’t change his word. It is what it is. Everything is crystal clear in the Bible.
If you have doubts about what that pastor or church is teaching is true, make sure that they have God’s will in their heart. Not their own glory, not to accommodate some people who want to be accepted by God without surrendering their lives. Either you give God your whole life or you don’t give anything. He won’t accept half of you. He didn’t die for half of your life. You can’t get halfway through heaven. Either you accept God’s plans for your life, or you don’t. Either you accept the whole Bible or you don’t accept it at all. You can’t pick a chunk of the bible and throw away the rest because you don’t like it. That is not how God works. People will say to me “that’s who I am, that’s how I am wired, I was born this way, the church can’t change me”. Really? (Yeah, the church can’t change you, but God will if you let Him).
Look, God is the beginning and the end. He can’t change. Why in the world would he make something so against his own word? It doesn’t make any sense, does it? You say, “then why I am this way or that way?” Because the devil spreads lies and make people believe in them. It is easier to give in to the flesh. It is hard to live the life God wants us to live. Each one of us has a different point of weakness. To some is money, or sexual pleasures, others are lies, gossips, covetousness, gluttony, drunkenness, parties, vanity, pride… Oh dude! there are so many types of weakness that the devil uses to get to us and make us wander away from God. He makes us believe that you are the way you are and can’t change, and because of that God doesn’t love you. That is the biggest fat lie the devil has told. The thing is: you are not going to change who you are, but you are going to change what you do. Unless you are what you do. You are not what you do. The world defines us by that. But that is not how God sees us. Think about it, one day you do one thing the other day you can do something completely different because the circumstances have changed. So, what does that make you? A crazy person? NO! A person who knows how to live. We change what needs to be changed to get by. God gave all of us the ability to do wonderful things for Him, consequently for others too.
You consider yourself a good person, but you know that before God’s eyes you are falling short of that. You don’t want to accept it because is more comfortable to stay exactly where you are. That is what the devil wants: you stay far from God. But when you decide to change the course of your life to go towards God, you see how life can be. How the number of hard things that you thought you couldn’t do, you did them already. Just by the fact that you have decided to follow Christ. I am not saying that is an easy path, but it is the path of redemption and freedom. When you decide to do things to please God, you will find yourself feeling more confident, filled with hope, and happy despite the difficulties ahead. The world won’t forgive you, but God has already forgiven you. You just need to decide to follow him.
Come to Christ for the right reasons, knowing that the plans God wants for your life are far better than your own plans. God’s plans include other people in your life and take away the weight of being the center of everything. The world has demanded too much of everybody when God only wants your devotion to Him and trust. He will take care of the rest. He wants you to rest in his arms. You don’t need to worry about being the best, to be on top of everything you do to “earn” recognition from others. God sees you. He sees your struggles, anxieties, and fears. He wants to take all that away from you. He wants to give you peace. You do what you do best, and He will strengthen you wherever, whenever, whatever you need. He got your back! Are you going to be led astray by false teachings that say “you don’t need to change because you can’t? God has made you this way.” God made you so much better and able to do better things that you can’t even imagine. Don’t be accommodated by those teachings. You can do everything because He (who died for you) strengthens you. (Philippians 4:13) You are not God who can’t change. He made us the way we can be changed every day. “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ he is a new creation, all old things have passed. All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: 19 that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people’s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation.” (2 Corinthians 5:17-19) The devil says God doesn’t love you because of who you are and what you’ve done. That is BS. A fat lie. He sent Christ so all that is forgiven. You are loved and wanted. He wants to be in your life as much as you want Him in your life. So, open up your mind and heart and believe. | Dois versos se destacaram para mim esta manhã. João 7:24 “Pare de julgar pelas aparências, mas julgue corretamente.”
Isso era Jesus falando. Recentemente ouvi dizer que algumas pessoas com vasto conhecimento da Bíblia (todos queremos acreditar) estão sendo desviadas pelas vãs doutrinas deste mundo. Significando que alguns líderes da igreja ou pessoas ganharam a confiança das pessoas contando mentiras sobre os ensinamentos da Bíblia. As pessoas buscam sua própria popularidade concordando com as mentiras que o mundo lhes oferece. Tenho visto igrejas com bandeiras e ensinando doutrinas que a Bíblia condena. Eles distorceram a Palavra de Deus para ser mais aceitável e palatável para aqueles que querem viver de acordo com suas próprias vontades e prazeres, mas querem fazer com que Deus aceite suas novas doutrinas. Eles se esqueceram de que Deus não muda sua palavra. É o que é. Tudo é claro na Bíblia.
Se você tiver dúvidas sobre o que aquele pastor ou igreja está ensinando é verdade, certifique-se de que eles tenham a vontade de Deus em seu coração. Não a sua própria glória, não para acomodar algumas pessoas que querem ser aceitas por Deus sem entregar suas vidas. Ou você dá a Deus toda a sua vida ou não dá nada. Ele não vai aceitar metade de você. Ele não morreu por metade da sua vida. Você não pode chegar no meio do caminho para o céu. Ou você aceita os planos de Deus para sua vida, ou não aceita nada. Ou você aceita a Bíblia inteira ou não a aceita de forma alguma. Você não pode pegar pedaço da bíblia e jogar fora o resto porque não gosta dela. Não é assim que Deus trabalha. As pessoas vão me dizer “isso é quem eu sou, é assim que eu estou conectado, eu nasci assim, a igreja não pode me mudar”. Sério? (Sim, a igreja não pode mudar você, mas Deus o fará se você permitir).
Veja, Deus é o princípio e o fim. Ele não pode mudar. Por que diabos ele faria algo tão contra sua própria palavra? Não faz nenhum sentido, não é? Você diz: "então por que eu sou assim ou daquele jeito?" Porque o diabo espalha mentiras e faz as pessoas acreditarem nelas. É mais fácil ceder à carne. É difícil viver a vida que Deus quer que vivamos. Cada um de nós tem um ponto de fraqueza diferente. Para uns é dinheiro, ou prazeres sexuais, outros são mentiras, fofocas, cobiça, gula, embriaguez, festas, vaidade, orgulho… Mano! tem tanto tipo de fraqueza que o diabo usa para fazer a gente se afastar de Deus e acreditar que somos do jeito que somos é não podemos mudar, e por isso Deus não nos ama. Essa é a maior mentira gorda que o diabo contou. A questão é: você não vai mudar quem você é, mas você vai mudar o que você faz. A menos que você seja o que você faz. Você não é o que você faz. O mundo nos define por isso. Mas não é assim que Deus nos vê. Pense nisso, um dia você faz uma coisa no outro dia você pode fazer algo completamente diferente porque as circunstâncias mudaram. Então, o que isso faz de você? A pessoa louca? NÃO! Uma pessoa que sabe viver. Nós mudamos o que precisa ser mudado para sobreviver. Deus deu a todos nós a capacidade de fazer coisas maravilhosas para Ele e, consequentemente, para os outros também.
Você se considera uma boa pessoa, mas sabe que diante dos olhos de Deus você está ficando aquém disso. Você não quer aceitar porque é mais confortável ficar exatamente onde está. É isso que o diabo quer: você fique longe de Deus. Mas quando você decide mudar o curso de sua vida para ir em direção a Deus, você vê como a vida pode ser. Como o número de coisas difíceis que você pensou que não poderia fazer, você já as fez. Apenas pelo fato de você ter decidido seguir a Cristo. Não estou dizendo que é um caminho fácil, mas é o caminho da redenção e da liberdade. Quando você decide fazer coisas para agradar a Deus, você se sentirá mais confiante, cheio de esperança e feliz, apesar das dificuldades à frente. O mundo não vai te perdoar, mas Deus já te perdoou. Você só precisa decidir segui-lo.
Venha a Cristo pelas razões certas, sabendo que os planos que Deus quer para sua vida são muito melhores do que seus próprios planos. Os planos de Deus incluem outras pessoas em sua vida e tiram o peso de ser o centro de tudo. O mundo exige demais de todos quando Deus só quer sua devoção a Ele e sua confiança. Ele cuidará do resto. Ele quer que você descanse em seus braços. Você não precisa se preocupar em ser o melhor, o melhor, está no topo de tudo o que faz para “ganhar” o reconhecimento dos outros. Deus vê você. Ele vê suas lutas, ansiedades e medos. Ele quer tirar tudo isso de você. Ele quer te dar paz. Você faz o que faz de melhor, e Ele o fortalecerá onde, quando e no que precisar. Ele te protege!
Você será desviado por falsos ensinamentos que dizem “você não precisa mudar porque não pode? Deus te fez assim.” Deus fez você muito melhor e capaz de fazer coisas melhores que você nem imagina. Não se deixe levar por esses ensinamentos. Você pode tudo porque Ele (que morreu por você) te fortalece. (Filipenses 4:13) Você não é Deus que não pode mudar. Ele nos fez da maneira que podemos ser mudados todos os dias. “Portanto, se alguém está em Cristo, é nova criatura, todas as coisas velhas já passaram. Tudo isso vem de Deus, que nos reconciliou consigo mesmo por meio de Cristo e nos deu o ministério da reconciliação: 19 que Deus reconciliou consigo o mundo em Cristo, não lhes imputando os pecados dos homens. E ele nos entregou a mensagem de reconciliação”. (2 Coríntios 5:17-19)
O diabo diz que Deus não te ama por causa de quem você é, e do que você faz. Isso é bobeira. Uma mentira gorda. Ele enviou Cristo para que tudo seja perdoado. Você é amado e desejado. Ele quer estar em sua vida tanto quanto você O quer em sua vida. Então, abra sua mente e coração e acredite. |
