Is this the end? // Esse é o fim?

 

The Spirit of God came on Azariah son of Oded. 2 He went out to meet Asa and said to him, “Listen to me, Asa and all Judah and Benjamin. The Lord is with you when you are with him. If you seek him, he will be found by you, but if you forsake him, he will forsake you. 3 For a long time, Israel was without the true God, without a priest to teach and without the law. 4 But in their distress they turned to the Lord, the God of Israel, and sought him, and he was found by them. 5 In those days it was not safe to travel about, for all the inhabitants of the lands were in great turmoil. 6 One nation was being crushed by another and one city by another, because God was troubling them with every kind of distress. 7 But as for you, be strong and do not give up, for your work will be rewarded.” (2 Chronicles 15:1 -7)   Lately, Christians are preoccupied with the end of times. They think this might be it. Well, I cannot confirm or deny it. But what I can tell is that everything that is happening around the globe isn’t new. Yes, there are new alliances and wars are popping up, every time the world start convulsing with big wars, our brothers and sisters start getting nervous and anxious.    However, when I read verses like those one above and look around what I see is a world, countries and cities taking the road in opposition to God. And we know that when we forsake God, He forsakes us too. When we turn to Him, He will be there for us.    I am not saying that we are not to be alert about what is going on around the world. We are, but I think we should be more aware of our own conditions as Church (the bride of Christ). Are we ready? “Our lamp is filled with oil?” Or are we busy with something else? As church and as individuals, we should be more preoccupied with our spiritual life, we should be following Christ step by the letter and not just going with the flow and with great expectation about the end. If we have neglected the work God has given to you, which is “love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your mind, with all your soul and love your neighbor as yourself,” I am afraid to tell you that your lamp is running out of oil.    When was the last time you asked God to search your heart and see if there was anything wrong that might offend Him? Don’t you care that the world is ending and you are going with it? What have you done to help either your surroundings or your neighbor? Are you sure that you have loved everyone you know and don’t know as yourself? You can’t do it if the Holy Spirit is not with you. He is the one who enables us to love one another. It doesn't matter if you can prophesy and speak in tongues if you can’t forgive one person. That person from your past. That one that you can’t even say their name. That one who you insist on saying, “I forgave, but I can’t forget”. Have you imagined God saying that about your sins? It is just impossible. Either you forgive and forget or you don’t forgive because you can’t forget. Remember the Lord’s prayer? How about start praying it and make it true “forgive me as I have forgiven”. God will forgive you in the same manner you have forgiven others.    The world is the way it is because people have forsaken God. Everything that is going on is because people started thinking, “I am enough”, “I am self-sufficient”, “I don’t need anyone to help me”, “I can do it by myself”. God troubles the world with every kind of distress. (Not just the world) Don’t be too busy, nor even with God’s work. Even God’s work can become an idol. You must remember to separate a time to worship Him and be in communion with Him first. First, we must seek the LORD, then ask for the Church’s revival, and then Jesus will see that His Bride is ready. Jesus said,  “I am the vine, you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me, you can do nothing.” (John 15:5)   The world needs Jesus’ church to be active and alive, burning with the Holy Spirit and proclaiming the gospel of Jesus. The church cannot give in to the world, and the world will persecute the church. This is a fact. Are you ready to die for his name’s sake?   The world’s condition will not get better, and you, as part of Jesus’ body, will be broken into pieces. The serpent will rise and come against His bride.    Are you proclaiming the Word of God, or are you too busy with the comings and goings of this life?   The world will get worse but it doesn’t mean it will be the end right about now. How many wars? How many times did the people think that would be the time of Jesus’ returning? Only the Father knows. Whoever prophesy about a date, a period, or anything I doubt it is from God. Jesus doesn’t know. The angels don’t know. The Holy Spirit doesn’t know. Why would God reveal it to a human and not to His Son?    We are closer, that is for sure. And that is it.

O Espírito de Deus veio sobre Azarias, filho de Odede. 2 Ele saiu ao encontro de Asa e disse-lhe: “Escute-me, Asa e todo o Judá e Benjamim. O Senhor está com você quando você está com ele. Se você o procurar, ele será encontrado por você, mas se você o abandonar, ele o abandonará. 3 Durante muito tempo, Israel ficou sem o Deus verdadeiro, sem sacerdote para ensinar e sem a lei. 4 Mas, na sua angústia, eles se voltaram para o Senhor, o Deus de Israel, e o buscaram, e ele foi encontrado por eles. 5 Naqueles dias não era seguro viajar, pois todos os habitantes daquelas terras estavam em grande agitação. 6 Uma nação estava sendo esmagada por outra e uma cidade por outra, porque Deus os perturbava com todo tipo de angústia. 7Mas quanto a você, seja forte e não desista, pois o seu trabalho será recompensado”. (2 Crônicas 15:1-7)   Ultimamente, os cristãos estão preocupados com o fim dos tempos. Eles acham que pode ser isso. Bem, não posso confirmar ou negar. Mas o que posso dizer é que tudo o que está acontecendo no mundo não é novo. Sim, há novas alianças e guerras estão surgindo, cada vez que o mundo começa a convulsionar com grandes guerras, os nossos irmãos e irmãs começam a ficar nervosos e ansiosos.   No entanto, quando leio versículos como os acima e olho ao redor, o que vejo é um mundo, países e cidades tomando o caminho em oposição a Deus. E sabemos que quando abandonamos a Deus, Ele nos abandona também. Quando nos voltamos para Ele, Ele estará lá para nós.   Não estou dizendo que não devemos estar alertas sobre o que está acontecendo ao redor do mundo. Estamos, mas acho que deveríamos estar mais conscientes das nossas próprias condições como Igreja (a noiva de Cristo). Estamos prontos? “Nossa lâmpada está cheia de óleo?” Ou estamos ocupados com outra coisa? Como igreja e como indivíduos, deveríamos estar mais preocupados com a nossa vida espiritual, deveríamos seguir Cristo passo a passo e não apenas seguir o fluxo e com grande expectativa sobre o fim. Se negligenciamos a obra que Deus lhe deu, que é “amar o Senhor, o seu Deus, de todo o seu coração, de toda a sua mente, de toda a sua alma e amar o seu próximo como a si mesmo”, temo que a sua lâmpada está ficando sem óleo.   Quando foi a última vez que você pediu a Deus para sondar seu coração e ver se havia algo errado que pudesse ofendê-Lo? Você não se importa que o mundo esteja acabando e você está indo com ele? O que você fez para ajudar o seu entorno ou o seu vizinho? Você tem certeza de que amou todos que conhece e não conhece como você a si mesmo? Você não pode fazer isso se o Espírito Santo não estiver com você. Ele é quem nos permite amar uns aos outros. Não importa se você pode profetizar e falar em línguas se não consegue perdoar uma pessoa. Aquela pessoa do seu passado. Aquele que você nem consegue dizer o nome. Aquela que você insiste em dizer: “Eu perdoei, mas não consigo esquecer”. Você já imaginou Deus dizendo isso sobre os seus pecados? É simplesmente impossível. Ou você perdoa e esquece ou não perdoa porque não consegue esquecer. Lembra do Pai Nosso? Que tal começar a orar e tornar realidade “perdoe-me como eu perdoei”. Deus o perdoará da mesma maneira que você perdoou os outros.   O mundo está do jeito que está porque as pessoas abandonaram a Deus. Tudo o que está acontecendo é porque as pessoas começaram a pensar: “Eu sou suficiente”, “Eu sou autossuficiente”, “Não preciso da ajuda de ninguém”, “Posso fazer sozinha”. Deus perturba o mundo com todo tipo de angústia (não só o mundo). Não fique muito ocupado, nem mesmo com a obra de Deus. Até a obra de Deus pode se tornar um ídolo. Você deve se lembrar de separar um tempo para adorá-Lo e estar em comunhão com Ele primeiro. Primeiro, devemos buscar o Senhor, depois pedir o reavivamento da Igreja, e então Jesus verá que a Sua Noiva está pronta. Jesus disse: “Eu sou a videira, vocês são os ramos. Se você permanecer em mim e eu em você, você dará muito fruto; sem mim, você não pode fazer nada. (João 15:5)   O mundo precisa que a igreja de Jesus seja ativa e viva, ardendo com o Espírito Santo e proclamando o evangelho de Jesus. A igreja não pode ceder ao mundo, e o mundo perseguirá a igreja. Isto é um fato. Você está pronto para morrer pelo nome dele?   A condição do mundo não melhorará e você, como parte do corpo de Jesus, será feito em pedaços. A serpente se levantará e virá contra Sua noiva.   Você está proclamando a Palavra de Deus ou está muito ocupado com as idas e vindas desta vida?   O mundo vai piorar, mas isso não significa que será o fim agora. Quantas guerras? Quantas vezes as pessoas pensaram que seria a hora da volta de Jesus? Só o Pai sabe. Quem profetiza sobre uma data, um período ou qualquer coisa duvido que seja de Deus. Jesus não sabe. Os anjos não sabem. O Espírito Santo não sabe. Por que Deus revelaria isso a um humano e não a Seu Filho?   Estamos mais perto, isso é certo. E é isso.
