What is your war? // Qual é a sua guerra?

 

 

I love the Lord of Ring and the Hobbit stories. They are so good and teach us so much.  Although my reflection was not about the Lord of the Ring’s wars, my reflection has a lot to do with wars. All kinds of wars that we face every day. I battle with my body every day. Few inches of my body has something to tell me every day. My body wants to keep me down, feeling defeated, unable. Sometimes I think my body is against me for no reason, just because.  But I must remember, I am not alone. I am not fighting this battle alone. I must show up for war to see God in action. Like king Jehoshaphat’s story.    I don’t know your story, your battle or even the war your are in. I just know that if only you remember that there is a God willing to help you, you will see what amazing things He can do for you and for those around you.    Here it goes a Jehoshaphat’s recipe for victory.   2 Chronicles 19   2 ... “Should you help the wicked and love[a] those who hate the Lord? Because of this, the wrath of the Lord is on you.  6 … “Consider carefully what you do, because you are not judging for mere mortals but for the Lord, who is with you whenever you give a verdict. 7 Now let the fear of the Lord be on you. Judge carefully, for with the Lord our God there is no injustice or partiality or bribery.” 11 …”Act with courage, and may the Lord be with those who do well.”   2 Chronicles 20   2 … “A vast army is coming against you 3 … “Alarmed, Jehoshaphat resolved to inquire of the Lord, and he proclaimed a fast for all Judah.  15 … “He said: “Listen, King Jehoshaphat and all who live in Judah and Jerusalem! This is what the Lord says to you: ‘Do not be afraid or discouraged because of this vast army. For the battle is not yours, but God’s.  17 … “ You will not have to fight this battle. Take up your positions; stand firm and see the deliverance the Lord will give you, Judah and Jerusalem. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged. Go out to face them tomorrow, and the Lord will be with you.’” 18 … “Jehoshaphat bowed down with his face to the ground, and all the people of Judah and Jerusalem fell down in worship before the Lord. 19 …”Then some Levites from the Kohathites and Korahites stood up and praised the Lord, the God of Israel, with a very loud voice. 20 … “Have faith in the Lord your God and you will be upheld; have faith in his prophets and you will be successful. 25 … “here was so much plunder that it took three days to collect it.    The king Jehoshaphat acted wisely when someone rebuked him. We can take some lessons from these two chapters of 2 Chronicles.  First, we will face the consequences of our actions. God sees everything and takes notes, although He is merciful and knows our hearts. Jesus taught us to love our enemies. We should not neglect those who are in need. But, let’s help first our own. Thinking a little deeper. If our own, I mean those who love God and have Jesus as their Savior, are in need, what does it tell about us to others? As we can think, first, we remove the log from our own eyes, and then we help our neighbor with their speck. Besides, we will be in more numbers to help the others.  Moving on… Jesus said, “Do not judge, to not be judged.” But if you judge, see the king’s recommendations in 2 Chronicles 19:6. It is for the LORD. When a threat or a problem comes, do likewise. Seek first the LORD. Humble yourself, stop everything, and even constrain your food to have more time for the LORD. And you will see the salvation as the king saw it. God will reassure you that He is with you, and He will fight for you whenever you ask Him. You must seek Him first. You must trust in Him. Although the fight is the LORD’s, you still gotta go to the battle camp. You have to show up. God instructed them to go out and face the tomorrow. It might seem ugly, but you must go. You must show trust and want to see God in action.  The king humbled himself before the battle. He bowed down his head with all the people of Judah and worshiped the LORD. What does this tell you? You never cease seeking and worshiping the LORD. Go to the battle camp of your life; no matter how many are up against you or how tall the wall is, you need to get up and go and go out singing to the LORD. “Praise the LORD, for His mercy endures forever”. God will give you not only victory but also the spoils of the war. They are not few; God gives you them in abundance.  And they will know who your God is.    Read the whole story 2 Chronicles 19 - 20.

Adoro as histórias do Senhor dos Anéis e do Hobbit. Eles são tão boas e nos ensinam muito. Embora minha reflexão não tenha sido sobre as guerras do Senhor do Anel, minha reflexão tem muito a ver com guerras. Todos os tipos de guerras que enfrentamos todos os dias. Eu luto com meu corpo todos os dias. Poucos centímetros do meu corpo têm algo a me dizer todos os dias. Meu corpo quer me manter para baixo, me sentindo derrotada, incapaz. Às vezes acho que meu corpo está contra mim sem motivo, só porque. Mas devo lembrar que não estou sozinha. Não estou travando esta batalha sozinha. Devo comparecer à guerra para ver Deus em ação. Como a história do rei Josafá.    Não conheço sua história, sua batalha ou mesmo a guerra em que você está. Só sei que se você se lembrar que existe um Deus disposto a ajudá-lo, você verá que coisas incríveis Ele pode fazer por você e por aqueles ao seu redor.   Aqui vai a receita de Josafá para a vitória.   2 Crônicas 19   2 ... “Você deveria ajudar os ímpios e amar aqueles que odeiam o Senhor? Por causa disso, a ira do Senhor está sobre você. 6… “Considere cuidadosamente o que você faz, porque você não está julgando por meros mortais, mas pelo Senhor, que está com você sempre que você der um veredicto. 7 Agora deixe o temor do Senhor estar sobre você. Julgue com cuidado, pois com o Senhor nosso Deus não há injustiça, nem parcialidade, nem suborno.” 11 …”Aja com coragem e que o Senhor esteja com aqueles que fazem o bem.”   2 Crônicas 20   2… “Um vasto exército está vindo contra você 3 … “Alarmado, Josafá resolveu consultar o Senhor e proclamou um jejum para todo o Judá. 15 … “Ele disse: “Ouçam, rei Josafá e todos os que vivem em Judá e em Jerusalém! Assim lhe diz o Senhor: ‘Não tenha medo nem desanime por causa deste vasto exército. Pois a batalha não é sua, mas de Deus. 17… “Você não terá que travar esta batalha. Assumam suas posições; permaneçam firmes e vejam o livramento que o Senhor dará a vocês, Judá e Jerusalém. Não tenha medo; Não seja desencorajado. Saia para enfrentá-los amanhã, e o Senhor estará com você.’” 18 … “Josafá prostrou-se com o rosto em terra, e todo o povo de Judá e de Jerusalém prostrou-se em adoração diante do Senhor. 19 …”Então alguns levitas dos coatitas e dos coraítas se levantaram e louvaram ao Senhor, o Deus de Israel, em voz muito alta. 20… “Tenha fé no Senhor seu Deus e você será sustentado; tenha fé em seus profetas e você terá sucesso. 25… “aqui havia tanto saque que demorou três dias para recolhê-lo.   O rei Josafá agiu sabiamente quando alguém o repreendeu. Podemos tirar algumas lições destes dois capítulos de 2 Crônicas. Primeiro, enfrentaremos as consequências das nossas ações. Deus vê tudo e toma notas, embora seja misericordioso e conheça nossos corações. Jesus nos ensinou a amar nossos inimigos. Não devemos negligenciar aqueles que precisam. Mas, vamos ajudar primeiro os nossos. Pensando um pouco mais fundo. Se os nossos, quero dizer, aqueles que amam a Deus e têm Jesus como Salvador, estão necessitados, o que isso diz sobre nós aos outros? Como podemos pensar, primeiro tiramos a trave dos nossos próprios olhos e depois ajudamos o nosso vizinho com o seu cisco. Além disso, estaremos em maior número para ajudar os demais. Continuando… Jesus disse: “Não julgue, para não ser julgado”. Mas se você julgar, veja as recomendações do rei em 2 Crônicas 19:6. É para o SENHOR. Quando surgir uma ameaça ou problema, faça o mesmo. Busque primeiro ao SENHOR. Humilhe-se, pare tudo e até restrinja sua alimentação para ter mais tempo para o SENHOR. E você verá a salvação como o rei a viu. Deus lhe garantirá que Ele está com você e lutará por você sempre que você pedir. Você deve buscá-Lo primeiro. Você deve confiar Nele. Embora a luta seja do SENHOR, você ainda precisa ir para o campo de batalha. Você tem que aparecer. Deus os instruiu a sair e enfrentar o amanhã. Pode parecer feio, mas você deve ir. Você deve demonstrar confiança e querer ver Deus em ação. O rei humilhou-se antes da batalha. Ele inclinou a cabeça com todo o povo de Judá e adorou ao Senhor. O que isso diz a você? Você nunca deixa de buscar e adorar o Senhor. Vá para o campo de batalha da sua vida; não importa quantos estejam contra você ou quão alto seja o muro, você precisa se levantar e sair cantando ao Senhor. “Louvai ao Senhor, porque a sua misericórdia dura para sempre”. Deus lhe dará não apenas a vitória, mas também os despojos da guerra. Eles não são poucos; Deus os dá a você em abundância. E eles saberão quem é o seu Deus.
