You know, we want to believe that we are wise in our own eyes. Then, God sends a test. And then what happened? We fail. Why do we fail? Because we believed that we were wise. We trusted in ourselves. We thought that we had been through enough to know what was right, what was the best alternative, the best response, the best… and then what happened? Our humanity happened. Our pride comes in and messes with everything. We think we are too good to be true, right? Some people believe that saying that God tests us is wrong. But He does, and He does all the time. Why? to break our pride, to fix us, to show us His power—what else? I have at least eight verses here saying that God tests us. I have asked myself this question so many times: Why did God put those two trees in the Garden of Eden? Didn’t He plant a trap? Maybe. Didn’t He know that the devil would come in serpent form to test those humans? He did. Then, why? Well, the test was this: where are you leaning on when the doubt comes? The serpent planted the doubt. God gave them His words and two options. What did they do? They thought they knew enough. They fell into the trap. They made the wrong choice. Why did God do that? Wouldn’t it be easier if that tree weren’t there? I agree, it would. But where is the fun in that? God gave them the freedom to choose. They had everything they needed. But they doubted and chose wrong. They chose to believe in the distorted serpent’s version of God’s word. They chose to be greedy and wanted to be like God. So, since the beginning God tests us. Where is your heart leaning on? Now that you have the knowledge of right and wrong you can decide what is best, can’t you? No, you can’t dumbass. Why? Because we see only a part of the whole. God sees the whole. If we don’t trust in God, even when things don’t look good, even when it seems crazy in people’s eyes, it is still the best way to go. Exodus 16:4 - Then the Lord said to Moses, “I will rain down bread from heaven for you. The people are to go out each day and gather enough for that day. In this way I will test them and see whether they will follow my instructions.(NIV) Exodus 20:20 - Moses said to the people, “Do not be afraid. God has come to test you, so that the fear of God will be with you to keep you from sinning.” (NIV) James 1:3 - whenever you face trials of many kinds, 3 because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. (NIV) Job 23:10 - But he knows the way that I take; when he has tested me, I will come forth as gold. (NIV) Psalm 66:9 - 10 - he has preserved our lives and kept our feet from slipping.10 For you, God, tested us; you refined us like silver. (NIV) Proverb 17:3 - The crucible for silver and the furnace for gold, but the Lord tests the heart. (NIV) Isaiah 48:10 - See, I have refined you, though not as silver; I have tested you in the furnace of affliction. (NIV) Malachi 3:10 - Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the Lord Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it. (NIV)
What would be the “testing” today? Anything. It can be a person, a situation, a disease, a season of life, whatever. It can be anything. God may use the situation (whatever it is) to make you a better person, increase your faith, show others His power through you, or even reveal whether your faith is genuine.
God says in His words several times that He will never forsake us. He is our provider. If we truly believe in that, if we truly have given our life to His control, so it is a “must believe” kind of thing that we should do. He is in control. He is the Author of this Story. There is nothing in the world that is out of His control. We must not judge God. Nothing is there by chance. Everything, everyone has a purpose in this life. There is no such thing as coincidence.
When your life seems upside down, maybe you should flip your head and change the angle to see what God is trying to show you. Maybe this is the only situation that would allow you to see what He wants you to see. And that will change your life. Trust that God is in control. And ask Him for wisdom to see whatever He wants you to see.
I sometimes ask God to give me His lens so I can see things the way He sees them. Sometimes I agree, it is so hard. We just have to go through, and when it is over, we’ll be able to see.
Wisdom is the keyword. Your life needs wisdom, and it is not yours. It is His. The first chapter of the letter of James says it all: "Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters,[a] whenever you face trials of many kinds, 3 because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. 4 Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. 5 If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you. 6 But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. 7 That person should not expect to receive anything from the Lord. 8 Such a person is double-minded and unstable in all they do." When you pray, don’t forget to ask for wisdom and understanding. Ask Him to not let you be a fool. You can also pray some Psalms, I like praying Psalm 23. Why? Because it says better what I need to say.
| Sabe, queremos acreditar que somos sábios aos nossos próprios olhos. Então, Deus envia um teste. E então o que aconteceu? Nós falhamos. Por que falhamos? Porque acreditávamos que éramos sábios. Confiávamos em nós mesmos. Pensávamos que tínhamos passado por coisas suficientes para saber o que era certo, qual era a melhor alternativa, a melhor resposta, a melhor... e então o que aconteceu? Nossa humanidade aconteceu. Nosso orgulho entra e mexe com tudo. Achamos que somos bons demais para ser verdade, certo?
Algumas pessoas acreditam que dizer que Deus nos testa é errado. Mas Ele faz isso, e Ele faz isso o tempo todo. Por quê? Para quebrar nosso orgulho, para nos consertar, para nos mostrar Seu poder — o que mais?
Tenho pelo menos oito versículos aqui dizendo que Deus nos testa.
Eu me fiz essa pergunta tantas vezes: Por que Deus colocou aquelas duas árvores no Jardim do Éden? Ele não plantou uma armadilha? Talvez. Ele não sabia que o diabo viria em forma de serpente para testar aqueles humanos? Ele sabia. Então, por quê?
Bem, o teste foi este: em que você está se apoiando quando a dúvida vem? A serpente plantou a dúvida. Deus deu a eles Suas palavras e duas opções. O que eles fizeram? Eles pensaram que sabiam o suficiente. Eles caíram na armadilha. Eles fizeram a escolha errada.
Por que Deus fez isso? Não seria mais fácil se aquela árvore não estivesse lá? Eu concordo, seria. Mas onde está a graça nisso? Deus deu a eles a liberdade de escolher. Eles tinham tudo o que precisavam. Mas eles duvidaram e escolheram errado. Eles escolheram acreditar na versão distorcida da serpente da palavra de Deus. Eles escolheram ser gananciosos e queriam ser como Deus.
Então, desde o início Deus nos testa. Onde seu coração está se apoiando? Agora que você tem o conhecimento do certo e do errado, você pode decidir o que é melhor, não pode? Não, você não pode, idiota. Por quê? Porque vemos apenas uma parte do todo. Deus vê o todo.
Se não confiarmos em Deus, mesmo quando as coisas não parecem boas, mesmo quando parece loucura aos olhos das pessoas, ainda é o melhor caminho a seguir.
Êxodo 16:4 - Então o Senhor disse a Moisés: "Farei chover pão do céu para vocês. O povo deve sair todos os dias e colher o suficiente para aquele dia. Desta forma, eu os testarei e verei se eles seguirão minhas instruções. (NVI) Êxodo 20:20 - Moisés disse ao povo: "Não tenham medo. Deus veio para testá-los, para que o temor de Deus esteja com vocês para impedi-los de pecar." (NVI) Tiago 1:3 - sempre que vocês enfrentarem provações de muitos tipos, 3 porque vocês sabem que o teste de sua fé produz perseverança. (NVI) Jó 23:10 - Mas ele conhece o caminho que eu sigo; quando ele me provar, eu sairei como ouro. (NVI) Salmo 66:9 - 10 - ele preservou nossas vidas e impediu que nossos pés escorregassem.10 Pois você, Deus, nos provou; você nos refinou como prata. (NVI) Provérbios 17:3 - O fogo prova a pureza da prata e do ouro, mas o Senhor prova o coração. (NVT) Isaías 48:10 - Veja, eu o refinei, embora não como a prata; eu o provei na fornalha da aflição. (NVI) Malaquias 3:10 - Traga o dízimo todo ao depósito, para que haja alimento em minha casa. Prove-me nisto", diz o Senhor Todo-Poderoso, "e veja se não abrirei as comportas do céu e derramarei tantas bênçãos que não haverá espaço suficiente para armazená-las. (NVI)
Qual seria o "teste" hoje? Qualquer coisa. Pode ser uma pessoa, uma situação, uma doença, uma estação da vida, o que for. Pode ser qualquer coisa.
Deus pode usar a situação (seja ela qual for) para torná-lo uma pessoa melhor, aumentar sua fé, mostrar aos outros Seu poder através de você ou até mesmo revelar se sua fé é genuína.
Deus diz em Suas palavras várias vezes que Ele nunca nos abandonará. Ele é nosso provedor. Se realmente acreditamos nisso, se realmente entregamos nossa vida ao Seu controle, então é algo do tipo "preciso acreditar" que devemos fazer. Ele está no controle. Ele é o Autor desta História. Não há nada no mundo que esteja fora do Seu controle. Não devemos julgar Deus. Nada existe por acaso. Tudo, todos têm um propósito nesta vida. Não existe coincidência.
Quando sua vida parece de cabeça para baixo, talvez você deva virar a cabeça e mudar o ângulo para ver o que Deus está tentando lhe mostrar. Talvez esta seja a única situação que lhe permitiria ver o que Ele quer que você veja. E isso mudará sua vida. Confie que Deus está no controle. E peça a Ele sabedoria para ver o que Ele quer que você veja.
Às vezes peço a Deus que me dê Suas lentes para que eu possa ver as coisas do jeito que Ele as vê. Às vezes concordo, é tão difícil. Só temos que passar por isso e, quando acabar, seremos capazes de ver.
Sabedoria é a palavra-chave. Sua vida precisa de sabedoria, e ela não é sua. É Dele. O primeiro capítulo da carta de Tiago diz tudo: "Meus irmãos, considerem motivo de grande alegria o fato de passarem por diversas provações, 3 pois vocês sabem que a prova da sua fé produz perseverança. 4 E a perseverança deve ter ação completa, a fim de que vocês sejam maduros e íntegros, sem lhes faltar coisa alguma. 5 Se algum de vocês tem falta de sabedoria, peça-a a Deus, que a todos dá livremente, de boa vontade; e lhe será concedida. 6 Peça-a, porém, com fé, sem duvidar, pois aquele que duvida é semelhante à onda do mar, levada e agitada pelo vento. 7 Não pense tal pessoa que receberá coisa alguma do Senhor, 8 pois tem mente dividida e é instável em tudo o que faz." Quando você orar, não se esqueça de pedir sabedoria e entendimento. Peça a Ele para não deixar você ser um tolo. Você também pode orar alguns Salmos, eu gosto de orar o Salmo 23. Por quê? Porque ele diz melhor o que eu preciso dizer. |
