Psalm 103 // Salmos 103

Psalms 103 with my thoughts in italic

Bless the LORD, O my soul,

And all that is within me,

Bless his holy name!

Bless the LORD, O my soul,

And forget not all his benefits,

So you can ask: what are the benefits?

O my soul, He, the LORD, who forgives all your iniquities

O my soul, He, Who heals all your diseases,

O my soul, He, Who redeems your life from the pit, (O my soul!)

O my soul , He, Who crowns you (O my soul) with steadfast love and mercy,

O my soul, He, Who satisfies you with good (see? O my soul), so that your youth is renewed like eagle’s

My soul, did you know?

The Lord works righteousness
    and justice for all who are oppressed.
He made known his ways to Moses,
    his acts to the people of Israel.
Remember my soul that

The Lord is merciful and gracious,
    slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love.
He will not always chide,
    nor will he keep his anger forever.
He does not deal with us according to our sin,
nor repay us according to our iniquities.

If that were the case, we wouldn’t stand a chance!

For as high as the heavens are above the earth,
    so great is his steadfast love toward those who fear him;
as far as the East is from the West,
    so far does he remove our transgressions from us.

As a father shows compassion to his children,
    so the Lord shows compassion to those who fear him.
When we think that He far away, and start complaining about the way we are or feel, remember my soul that

For he knows our frame;
    he remembers that we are dust.

As for man, his days are like grass;
he flourishes like a flower of the field;
for the wind passes over it, and it is gone,
    and its place knows it no more.

What does this tell you? That we gotta stop complaining about our fragilities, and problems, things that hinder us from living a life that the LORD has designed for us. He made us like this because He wants us to remember that only He has the control of our lives. So, we should trust Him, my soul.

He is the only one eternal, and he promises He’ll take care of our future and our children. Look:

But the steadfast love of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting on those who fear him, (we must be on his side, we must know Him to have the right fear for him)
    and his righteousness to children's children,
to those who keep his covenant
    and remember to do his commandments. (My soul, we must remember his commandments and know Him).

Remember how majestic He is, my soul

The Lord has established his throne in the heavens,
    and his kingdom rules over all.

Therefore my soul

Bless the Lord, O you his angels,
    you mighty ones who do his word,
    obeying the voice of his word!

Bless the Lord, all his hosts,
    his ministers, who do his will!

Bless the Lord, all his works,
    in all places of his dominion.
Bless the Lord, O my soul!

     tão grande é o seu amor constante para com aqueles que o temem;

Pois ele conhece nossa estrutura;

     ele se lembra de que somos pó.

Quanto ao homem, seus dias são como a grama;

     ele floresce como uma flor do campo;

Portanto minha alma

Bendizei ao Senhor, ó seus anjos,

     vocês poderosos que cumprem a sua palavra,

     obedecendo a voz da sua palavra!

Bendizei ao Senhor, todos os seus exércitos,

     seus ministros, que fazem a sua vontade!

Bendizei ao Senhor, todas as suas obras,

     em todos os lugares de seu domínio.

Bendizei ao Senhor, ó minha alma!

Come and See + Judge correctly // Venha e Veja + Julgue corretamente

Venha e Veja   Two verses stood out for me this morning. John 7:17-18 and 7:24.   “ Anyone who chooses to do the will of God will find out whether my teaching comes from God or whether I speak on my own.   18  Whoever speaks on their own does so to gain personal glory, but he who seeks the glory of the one who sent him is a man of truth; there is nothing false about him.” John 7:24 “ Stop judging by mere appearances, but instead judge correctly.”   That was Jesus talking.  I lately heard that some people with vast knowledge of the Bible (we all want to believe) are being led astray through the vain doctrines of this world. Meaning, that some church leaders or people have earned the people's trust by telling them lies about the teachings of the Bible. People seek their own popularity by agreeing with the lies the world has offered them.  I have seen churches with flags and teaching doctrines that the Bible condemns. They have twisted the Word of God to be more acceptable and palatab

Are you lost? // Você está perdido?

Você está perdido? There is always this time in life when we are certain about what to do with our lives. We have a goal, and an objective to reach. However, it is often that life turns the other way around and our plans are made nothing. Frequently I hear people say, “I am lost, I don’t know what to do!” That happens when we put our goals into something that changes. Everything in this world change. You and I are changing by the minute. My thoughts right now are running like crazy, and if I don’t set a goal in something that doesn’t change, I can’t do anything. What is it?   Jesus. The word of God. You might think I am crazy, and lunatic or even a fanatic. But who really knows me, know that I am none of those things. I am a very sensible person who has lived and experienced many things. And I don’t lie. So, if you are experiencing a sense of loss and despair, how about putting your hope in the One who cannot change whatsoever. If you lost you

Pointing finger // Apontar o dedo

Recently I was studying the Sermon on the mount in a bible study at the church. It was wonderful to meditate and go deep in these Jesus’ words. So many details we sometimes don’t realize. We are very quick to see the flaws and failures of others. But interestingly the things we see faster in others are probably the things we don’t see or won’t see in ourselves. It is easy to point a finger when someone is, for example, throwing trash on the streets, when one doesn’t even bother to do the same at home. In Brazil, we have this saying “blacksmith’s house, woodpecker.” Who are you to point a finger to anyone when you yourself cannot do better? Your sin is no smaller than his. Jesus said, “Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? ( Matthew 7 :3). Look, sawdust is something small, and plank or log is something much bigger than sawdust. Sometimes we are able to see something very insignificant in othe
