I have told on another occasion the story of David’s anointing. Samuel went down to the house of Jesse, the place where God sent him, to anoint the next king of Israel. When Samuel got there and Jesse lined up his sons, the oldest was tall and handsome, and in Samuel’s eyes that one was to be the king. Samuel judged the boy by his appearance. Then the LORD said to Samuel, “Do not look on his appearance or on the height of his stature, because I have rejected him. For the LORD sees not as a man sees: man looks on the outward appearance, but the LORD looks on the heart”. (1 Samuel 16:7) His words, not mine. I know and it is not recently that people are always very worried about how they look. Yes, I agree that showering every day, putting on clean clothes, and combing the hair are important things. Of course, there is more than just that. But when appearance becomes something to be regarded as the most important thing, it is at this moment that something is really wrong. We cannot hold appearance as THE most important thing people will notice. They will notice but it is not the most important thing for the MOST important person. People are so obsessed with their looks; they are even changing their “gender”, what else is there to change? They are mutilating themselves searching for something, the acceptance or they are fleeing from something, fear of rejection… I don’t know. But the thing these people should know is: The LORD doesn’t see as men do. The LORD sees the heart. What have you put in your heart that makes you want to change so much? The LORD knows intimately. He created you. And He does not make mistakes. You are listening to the wrong crowd. You are looking in the wrong direction. People are supposed to be different. People have different skills. We are not to look the same. Look around, we have hundreds or even millions of flower species, birds, and animals of all kinds. All are important to the ecosystem, and the food chain. So are we. We have a role to play in God’s plan. Remember God doesn’t make mistakes. God made man, male and female. There is no other thing. Do you know who didn’t like the things God created? The devil, because he is envious, a liar, and very persuasive. He will tell you everything you want to hear and make you believe that is true. But you doubt. Did you question yourself… how many times? Does it bring you peace? Do you really feel at peace? Anyway, I am not here to tell you what or not to do. I am here to tell you few things that you should know. 1. God loves you, He sent his only Son to die for you so you do not perish but have eternal life. If only you believe in Him. 2. God doesn’t make mistakes. You are accepted by God the way you are. He’ll guide you. You are not you anymore. Don’t worry, He came to save the world not to condemn it. He knows and sees your heart. He’ll restore you in a way I cannot describe, but only if you let him. Must be brave. 3. Looks are deceitful. Looks changes. We are beautiful now then we are not. We are full of health and energy, then we are not. Unless you die young, we’re all gonna get old, full of wrinkles and wisdom. If only you believe. See, in David’s story, no one knew what he had been through in the field. No one believed in him, not even his own dad regarded him as someone important. He was the one who used to take care of the sheep. He was all forgotten in the field. But not by God. God knew him, he knew where he was and what he was doing, how he was doing. God knew his heart. David loved God and trusted in Him so much that in the name of the LORD, God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, he faced a giant with smooth stones. What does this tell us? We don’t need a Harvard diploma or be some sort of Elon Musk to be valued by God, or have a variety of skills or beauty…he just needs your faith. David went there to face a person whom no one yet had dared to. He was just a boy filled with faith in the right Person. It is not your battle anymore when you trust in God. The battle is the LORD’s. The world may forget you, but God knows, and He is patiently waiting for you to trust the way David trusted. God rewarded David. Because of his faith, God gave him a kingdom. Was it immediately after that? No, not at all. Did it come easily? No. It took at least 10 years for David to ascend the throne. During those 10 years, he was fleeing from Saul. Saul was envious of David. God was with David. Not even in the worst days of David’s life he complained about God or his circumstances. Did he get depression? Yes, who wouldn’t? Running away and living in caves, must not be good. David didn’t get it easy because he was faithful to God. But you know what? David trusted. David had peace. David knew he wasn’t alone. No one, rich or poor, beautiful or ugly, has an easy life. There are times and times. If you believe and trust in Him, you’ll get through it all. It is not about religion or church. It is about your heart and your allegiance to God. Your obedience. Saul lost his kingdom and his favor with the LORD because he disobeyed. He thought he could go around God and do whatever he wanted. But God sees everything, every intention. Saul wanted to please the people and not God. This cost him his legacy. Let’s just focus on what is important. To obey the LORD is better than religion. Quando Samuel chegou lá e Jessé alinhou seus filhos, o mais velho era alto, e bonito, e aos olhos de Samuel, aquele seria o rei. Samuel julgou o menino por sua aparência. Então o SENHOR disse a Samuel: “Não olhe para a sua aparência nem para a altura da sua estatura, porque eu o rejeitei. Pois o Senhor não vê como o homem: o homem vê a aparência, mas o Senhor vê o coração”. (1 Sm 16:7) Suas palavras, não minhas.
Eu sei e não é recentemente que as pessoas estão sempre muito preocupadas com sua aparência. Sim, concordo que tomar banho todos os dias, vestir roupas limpas e pentear o cabelo são coisas importantes. Claro, há mais do que apenas isso. Mas quando a aparência se torna algo a ser considerado o mais importante, é nesse momento que algo está realmente errado. Não podemos manter a aparência como a coisa mais importante que as pessoas notarão. Eles vão notar, mas não é a coisa mais importante para a pessoa MAIS importante.
As pessoas estão tão obcecadas com sua aparência; eles estão até mudando de “gênero”, o que mais há para mudar? Estão se mutilando em busca de algo, a aceitação ou estão fugindo de algo, medo da rejeição... sei lá. Mas o que essas pessoas devem saber é: o SENHOR não vê como os homens. O SENHOR vê o coração. O que você tem colocado em seu coração que te faz querer tanto mudar? O SENHOR conhece intimamente. Ele criou você. E Ele não comete erros. Você está ouvindo a multidão errada. Você está olhando na direção errada.
As pessoas deveriam ser diferentes. As pessoas têm habilidades diferentes. Não devemos ter a mesma aparência.
Olhe ao seu redor, temos centenas ou até milhões de espécies de flores, pássaros e animais de todos os tipos. Todos são importantes para o ecossistema e para a cadeia alimentar. Nós também. Temos um papel a desempenhar no plano de Deus. Lembre-se que Deus não comete erros. Deus fez o homem, macho e fêmea. Não há outra coisa.
Você sabe quem não gostou das coisas que Deus criou? O diabo, porque é invejoso, mentiroso e muito persuasivo. Ele vai te contar tudo o que você quer ouvir e te fazer acreditar que é verdade. Mas você duvida. Você se questionou… quantas vezes? Isso te traz paz? Você realmente se sente em paz? De qualquer forma, não estou aqui para dizer o que fazer ou não. Estou aqui para lhe dizer algumas coisas que você deve saber.
1. Deus te ama, Ele enviou seu único Filho para morrer por você para que você não pereça, mas tenha a vida eterna. Se você apenas acreditar Nele. 2. Deus não comete erros. Você é aceito por Deus do jeito que você é. Ele irá guiá-lo. Você não é mais você. Não se preocupe, Ele veio para salvar o mundo e não para condená-lo. Ele conhece e vê o seu coração. Ele vai restaurá-lo de uma forma que não consigo descrever, mas apenas se você permitir. Deve ser corajoso. 3. As aparências enganam. A aparência muda. Somos lindos agora, então não somos. Estamos cheios de saúde e energia, então não estamos. A menos que você não morra jovem, todos nós vamos envelhecer, cheios de rugas e sabedoria. Se ao menos você acreditar.
Veja, na história de Davi, ninguém sabia o que ele havia passado no campo. Ninguém acreditava nele, nem mesmo seu próprio pai o considerava alguém importante. Era ele quem cuidava das ovelhas. Ele foi totalmente esquecido no field. Mas não por Deus. Deus o conhecia, sabia onde estava e o que estava fazendo, como estava. Deus conhecia seu coração. Davi amava a Deus e confiava tanto nele que em nome do Senhor, Deus de Abraão, Isaque e Jacó, enfrentou um gigante com pedras lisas. O que isso nos diz? Não precisamos de um diploma de Harvard ou ser algum tipo de Elon Musk para ser valorizado por Deus, ou ter uma variedade de habilidades ou beleza… ele só precisa da sua fé. David foi lá para enfrentar uma pessoa que ninguém ainda tinha ousado. Ele era apenas um menino cheio de fé na Pessoa certa. Não é mais sua batalha quando você confia em Deus. A batalha é do SENHOR.
O mundo pode te esquecer, mas Deus sabe, e Ele está esperando pacientemente que você confie da maneira que Davi confiou. Deus recompensou Davi. Por causa de sua fé, Deus lhe deu um reino. Foi logo depois disso? Não, de jeito nenhum. Chegou fácil? Não. Demorou pelo menos 10 anos para Davi ascender ao trono. Durante esses 10 anos, ele estava fugindo de Saul. Saul tinha inveja de Davi. Deus estava com Davi. Nem mesmo nos piores dias da vida de Davi ele reclamou de Deus ou de suas circunstâncias. Ele teve depressão? Sim, quem não teria? Fugir e viver em cavernas não deve ser bom. Para Davi não foi fácil porque foi fiel a Deus. Mas, você sabe o quê? Davi confiava. Davi tinha paz. David sabia que não estava sozinho.
Ninguém, rico ou pobre, bonito ou feio, tem vida fácil. Há tempos e tempos. Se você acredita e confia Nele, você supera tudo isso.
Não é sobre religião ou igreja. É sobre o seu coração e sua lealdade a Deus. Sua obediência. Saul perdeu seu reino e o favor do SENHOR porque desobedeceu. Ele pensou que poderia contornar Deus e fazer o que quisesse. Mas Deus vê tudo, cada intenção. Saul queria agradar o povo e não a Deus. Isso lhe custou seu legado. Vamos nos concentrar apenas no que é importante. Obedecer ao SENHOR é melhor que religião. (1 Sm 15:22-23). |
