Do you know the Bible? How much do you know about the Bible? How old are you? How many times have you read the book you say you know?  Do you believe in it?   Do you believe that the Bible is the Word of God? Do you believe in this statement: “God is the same yesterday, today, and He will always be the same”? If God is the same, His Words are also permanent. If this Word is permanent, as Jesus said, “My Words will never pass away”? You said you believe in God, but you don’t want anything to do with His people (Church) or His Word. Hmm… and You think because you are a good person (in your own eyes), you have the right to go to heaven, am I right? If you read the Bible, which is the Word of God, you would know that it doesn’t work that way. You who say that are a believer. Act like it. Read your Bible. The Old and New Testaments are the Word of God and have the same value. They don’t contradict each other. You just have to study them. Why do you think that Deuteronomy and Psalms say that you must meditate day and night?  The Word of God is not supposed to be easy. It is supposed to be studied. Otherwise, you will not understand or remember it. It is complex. Look, how many years must a person study to be a doctor? At least 6 years.  Everything that God has made, everything you see, has God’s hands in it. There is perfection. There is complexity. Have you ever stopped to see a hummingbird? The beauty, the perfection of its wings. The Bible is God revealing Himself to us. He is telling a story. You cannot leave anything out. Everything is important. Every detail is worth looking into.  It is surreal when I am listening to the BibleProject podcast, and they say something that had never occurred to me, and it makes total sense. It seems a new window was open. I understand a little bit more what God was trying to communicate. Each word is full of life, culture, time, and use.  It is a fantastic job what they do, discussing every bit of the Bible.  Everything in the Old Testament takes us to the New Testament. To Jesus. Even the book of Leviticus. Jesus didn’t leave the Torah (means Instruction) = Pentateuch out of his teaching. Everything is connected. If you don’t see it, you need to go back and read it again, as many times as needed to get it.  I didn’t like to read the Old Testament. To me, it had too many names, laws, and sacrifices. I used to read only Psalms, Ecclesiastes, and Proverbs.  You cannot pick one part of the Old Testament and throw the rest away. If you rip apart a book's page, you will notice something is missing. You cannot use the Bible to get you ahead in your plans. You cannot use the name of the LORD your God in vain. When you use the Bible for your own purposes, you are using the name of The LORD your God in vain. You cannot use the Bible to offend. You can use it to rebuke with wisdom and love.  Be careful when you cite the verses of the Bible. Don’t take them out of context. This is the third commandment. Ah, ops.. Do you think that we don’t need those commandments because Jesus came? OH.. so you haven’t read what Jesus said: “I didn’t come to abolish, but to fulfill the Law and the Prophets.”  Everything Jesus and the Apostles taught is in the Old Testament. What do you think they had it in their hands? The only thing we don’t need to do anymore in the Law is make sacrifices. Because Jesus is the sacrifice. Jesus is the Lamb of the atonement. He came to cleanse us of our sins. So we can be before the Father. But you will understand this statement better if you understand the meaning of each sacrifice. We still should bring before God our first fruits; the best we have, we should dedicate to God. The sacrifices also teach us to be grateful and humble. Exactly what Jesus taught us to be. Everything in the Old Testament is about Jesus. And everything that Jesus taught is in the Old Testament. What about the other laws that the Jews follow? In my opinion (it can very well be wrong), God made us different. And put us in a different set of environments Some aspects of our culture we can keep it. Many of those laws are about life preservation. They didn’t have a sink, water coming out from the tap, cars, etc. But if you think of what is being communicated, you will see that we all follow the Law, in a way. Our laws seem pretty much like their laws, taking the time into consideration.  My point is that God gave us the Old and New Testaments so we could believe. If it was not to be read, what is it for?  I encourage you to read the Bible from the beginning to the end, in a year. Every day. Pray for understanding. Pray that God reveals Himself to you while you are reading it.   You just need to start. Get involved the same way you get involved when you go to the movies and watch some sci-fi or fantasy movie. During that moment that you are in the theater you believe in that story. You cheer, you cry, you relate to the characters.  read the Bible and get involved in the same manner. And let the Holy Spirit touch your heart. Pray for understanding.

Você conhece a Bíblia? Quanto você conhece a Bíblia? Quantos anos você tem? Quantas vezes você já leu o livro que diz conhecer? Você acredita nisso?   Você acredita que a Bíblia é a Palavra de Deus? Você acredita nesta afirmação: “Deus é o mesmo ontem, hoje e sempre será o mesmo”? Se Deus é o mesmo, Suas Palavras também são permanentes. Se esta Palavra é permanente, como Jesus disse: “As Minhas Palavras nunca passarão”? Você disse que acredita em Deus, mas não quer nada com Seu povo (Igreja) ou Sua Palavra. Hmm… e você acha que porque é uma boa pessoa (aos seus próprios olhos), você tem o direito de ir para o céu, certo? Se você ler a Bíblia, que é a Palavra de Deus, saberá que não funciona assim. Você que diz isso é um crente. Aja como tal. Leia sua Bíblia. O Antigo e o Novo Testamento são a Palavra de Deus e têm o mesmo valor. Eles não se contradizem. Você apenas tem que estudá-los. Por que você acha que em Deuteronômio e Salmos dizem que você deve meditar dia e noite? A Palavra de Deus não é pra ser fácil. É para ser estudada. Caso contrário, você não entenderá nem se lembrará dela. É complexa. Olha, quantos anos uma pessoa deve estudar para ser médico? Pelo menos 6 anos. Tudo o que Deus fez, tudo o que você vê, está nas mãos de Deus. Existe perfeição. Existe complexidade. Você já parou para ver um beija-flor? A beleza, a perfeição das suas asas. A Bíblia é Deus se revelando a nós. Ele está contando uma história. Você não pode deixar nada de fora. Tudo é importante. Vale a pena analisar cada detalhe. É surreal quando estou ouvindo o podcast do BibleProject e eles dizem algo que nunca tinha me ocorrido e que faz total sentido. Parece que uma nova janela foi aberta. Eu entendo um pouco mais o que Deus estava tentando comunicar. Cada palavra é cheia de vida, cultura, tempo e uso. É um trabalho fantástico o que eles fazem, discutindo cada pedacinho da Bíblia. Tudo no Antigo Testamento nos leva ao Novo Testamento. Para Jesus. Até mesmo o livro de Levítico. Jesus não deixou a Torá (significa Instrução) = Pentateuco, fora de seus ensinamentos. Tudo está conectado. Se você não vê, você precisa voltar e ler novamente, quantas vezes forem necessárias até conseguir. Eu não gostava de ler o Antigo Testamento. Para mim, tinha muitos nomes, leis e sacrifícios. Eu costumava ler apenas Salmos, Eclesiastes e Provérbios. Você não pode escolher uma parte do Antigo Testamento e jogar o resto fora. Se você rasgar a página de um livro, notará que algo está faltando. Você não pode usar a Bíblia para avançar em seus planos. Você não pode usar o nome do Senhor, seu Deus, em vão. Quando você usa a Bíblia para seus próprios propósitos, você está usando o nome do Senhor, seu Deus, em vão. Você não pode usar a Bíblia para ofender. Você pode usá-la para repreender com sabedoria e amor. Tenha cuidado ao citar os versículos da Bíblia. Não os tire do contexto. Este é o terceiro mandamento. Ah, ops.. Você acha que não precisamos desses mandamentos porque Jesus veio? AH.. então você não leu o que Jesus disse: “Eu não vim para abolir, mas para cumprir a Lei e os Profetas”. Tudo o que Jesus e os Apóstolos ensinaram está no Antigo Testamento. O que você acha que eles tinham nas mãos? A única coisa que não precisamos mais fazer da Lei é fazer sacrifícios. Porque Jesus é o sacrifício. Jesus é o Cordeiro da expiação. Ele veio para nos purificar dos nossos pecados. Assim podemos estar diante do Pai. Mas você entenderá melhor esta afirmação se compreender o significado de cada sacrifício. Ainda deveríamos trazer nossas primícias diante de Deus; o melhor que temos, devemos dedicar a Deus. Os sacrifícios também nos ensinam a ser gratos e humildes. Exatamente o que Jesus nos ensinou a ser. Tudo no Antigo Testamento é sobre Jesus. E tudo o que Jesus ensinou está no Antigo Testamento. E as outras leis que os judeus seguem? Na minha opinião (pode muito bem estar errado), Deus nos fez diferentes. E nos colocou em um conjunto diferente de ambientes. Alguns aspectos de nossa cultura podemos mantê-los. Muitas dessas leis tratam da preservação da vida. Não tinham pia, água saindo da torneira, carros, etc. Mas se você pensar no que está sendo comunicado, verá que todos seguimos a Lei, de algum jeito. Nossas leis se parecem muito com as leis deles, levando o tempo em consideração. Meu ponto é Deus nos deu o Antigo e o Novo Testamento, para que nós pudéssemos acreditar.. Se não era para ser lido, para que serve? Eu encorajo você a ler a Bíblia do começo ao fim em um ano. Todos os dias. Peça a Deus por compreensão. Peça para que Ele se revele a você durante sua leitura. Você só precisa começar. Envolva-se da mesma forma que você se envolve quando vai ao cinema e assiste a algum filme de ficção científica ou fantasia. Nesse momento em que você está no teatro você acredita naquela história. Você torce, chora, se identifica com os personagens. leia a Bíblia e envolva-se da mesma maneira. E deixe o Espírito Santo tocar seu coração. Ore por compreensão.
