Why Jesus and not anyone else?   Imagine you in the woods, looking around and seeing all types of life. Animals, plants, waterfalls, the sound of nature. And you rationalize, wouldn’t it be better if someone very thoughtful and loving had created all of this for me? If there could be a person who could create such magnificent beauty and give it to me, what would I call this gesture? I would be tempted to call it love.   Now, imagine you were living more than 3000 years ago when every person around you had what they called a god. But all of those gods, you knew exactly where they came from, what were their strengths and weaknesses. But none of them could create anything exactly. Everything was already there, created. And you wish you could learn the mysteries of all nature, and people, and love. You knew some gods were cool, others not so much. You knew some could be very vindictive, others very demanding. And you always had to do so much to please them and not be consumed by their anger. You have never listened to any of them talking about love without interest. They were somehow very human, so to speak. They had some powers and they also had weaknesses, and that bothered you.   Then you hear about a different kind of god. A god who was able to create everything. Every beautiful thing in this world, including yourself. This god wanted to have a relationship with every human being without asking anything in exchange, only your allegiance. This god knew exactly how humans were, so in order to help them preserve their own lives, he gave them some instructions. But he knew they would fail, and no matter how hard he tried to teach them how to behave, they’ve always failed.    One day, this god decided to get down from his throne and became a human and experiment if this life was so hard to live as humans made it look. It turned out that he could live a perfect life, not having to use his powers for his own good. But as expected from the humans and their evilness from the heart, they didn’t realize that person was a god. Humans hated him. This god loved these humans so much even when they were plotting to kill him. He had decided that the reason for his coming was not to destroy them, although he had every right to do so. He pitied them. He saw their pride, fears, greed, and thirst for power; no matter what he said, they always turned his words against him.    So, they finally killed him. But because he was God, the creator of all, he couldn’t stay dead. He went back to His glory. Now He waits until the appointed time who decided to believe in Him. He doesn’t care if the person repents in his last minute of life or in his first breath of life. He is ready to save by His infinite grace and love.   Only those humans who believed in him and understood what he came down here to do, only those he would save. He would Save them from their self-destruction, save them from their eternal damnation.   What does this God want from us? That we decide to change our ways. And follow His ways because He knows better what way will take you and me to life and not to death.   Now, my question to you. What other god do you know in all the history of humanity would do such a thing?  I am not all-known of mythology or history of the peoples and ages, but if I am not mistaken, we don’t have anyone else with this story, this creativity, this power. This God, maker of heaven and earth, could easily destroy everything just with His word, the same way He claims he created.    Humans being humans, stubborn, dumb, blind, proud, greedy, envious, and fools above all else, they still decided not to believe in this God; they think that everything was created out of nowhere by no one. Everything was created out of nothing, but someone had to make it come into existence. The point here is not the length time or the method all was created but the purpose to whom and by whom all came into existence.    If you think that this God isn’t fair because you see evil and violence all around you, guess who chose to make all that? We, the very humans, have rejected Him. We chose to kill everything in our way to get what we want. We don’t give the due worth or regard to life around us. We are the ones who destroy everything.   If only we believe and follow his ways. This life would not be easy, this life would be different. When we decide to follow his ways, I am not saying that everything will be made perfect and beautiful, no. We are way passed that point now. But when we decide to live like He did, life becomes worthy, not easy because just like His life wasn’t easy, but it is worthy because He promised that if we live like Him and for Him, He also will restore us to His glory, his eternal glory.   This God who loves you and me and came down in human form to show how much He cares is waiting patiently for your decision. He has decided to wait for you until the end.  The life with Him won’t be easy or free of problems. But it will be full of joy, hope, peace, and love. Aren’t these the things we all long for? What god would you choose to give your allegiance? The ones we have created or the One who created us?

Por que Jesus e não qualquer outra pessoa?   Imagine você na floresta, olhando ao redor e vendo todos os tipos de vida. Animais, plantas, cachoeiras, o som da natureza. E você racionaliza, não seria melhor se alguém muito atencioso e amoroso tivesse criado tudo isso para mim? Se pudesse haver uma pessoa que pudesse criar uma beleza tão magnífica e me dar, como eu chamaria esse gesto? Eu ficaria tentada a chamá-lo de amor.   Agora, imagine que você estivesse vivendo há mais de 3000 anos, quando cada pessoa ao seu redor tinha o que chamavam de deus. Mas todos esses deuses, você sabia exatamente de onde eles vieram, quais eram seus pontos fortes e fracos. Mas nenhum deles poderia criar nada exatamente. Tudo já estava lá, criado. E você gostaria de aprender os mistérios de toda a natureza, das pessoas e do amor. Você sabia que alguns deuses eram legais, outros nem tanto. Você sabia que alguns podiam ser muito vingativos, outros muito exigentes. E você sempre teve que fazer muito para agradá-los e não ser consumido por sua raiva. Você nunca ouviu nenhum deles falando sobre amor sem interesse. Eles eram de alguma forma muito humanos, por assim dizer. Eles tinham alguns poderes e também tinham fraquezas, e isso te incomodava.   Então você ouve sobre um tipo diferente de deus. Um deus que era capaz de criar tudo. Todas as coisas belas neste mundo, incluindo você. Este deus queria ter um relacionamento com cada ser humano sem pedir nada em troca, apenas sua lealdade. Este deus sabia exatamente como os humanos eram, então para ajudá-los a preservar suas próprias vidas, ele lhes deu algumas instruções. Mas ele sabia que eles falhariam, e não importa o quanto ele tentasse ensiná-los a se comportar, eles sempre falharam.   Um dia, este deus decidiu descer de seu trono e se tornou um humano e experimentar se esta vida era tão difícil de viver como os humanos faziam parecer. Acontece que ele conseguiu viver uma vida perfeita, não tendo que usar seus poderes para seu próprio bem. Mas como esperado dos humanos e sua maldade de coração, eles não perceberam que aquela pessoa era um deus. Os humanos o odiavam. Este deus amava tanto esses humanos, mesmo quando eles estavam conspirando para matá-lo. Ele havia decidido que a razão de sua vinda não era destruí-los, embora tivesse todo o direito de fazê-lo. Ele tinha pena deles. Ele viu seu orgulho, medos, ganância e sede de poder; não importa o que ele dissesse, eles sempre viravam suas palavras contra ele.   Então, eles finalmente o mataram. Mas porque ele era Deus, o criador de tudo, ele não podia ficar morto. Ele voltou para Sua glória. Agora Ele espera até o tempo determinado quem decidiu acreditar Nele. Ele não se importa se a pessoa se arrepende em seu último minuto de vida ou em seu primeiro suspiro de vida. Ele está pronto para salvar por Sua infinita graça e amor.   Somente aqueles humanos que acreditaram nele e entenderam o que ele veio fazer aqui somente aqueles que ele salvaria. Ele os salvaria de sua autodestruição, os salvaria de sua condenação eterna.    O que este Deus quer de nós? Que decidamos mudar nossos caminhos. E seguir Seus caminhos porque Ele sabe melhor qual caminho levará você e eu à vida e não à morte.   Agora, minha pergunta para você. Que outro deus você conhece em toda a história da humanidade faria uma coisa dessas? Eu não sou todo-conhecido em mitologia ou história dos povos e eras, mas se não me engano, não temos mais ninguém com essa história, essa criatividade, esse poder. Este Deus, criador do céu e da terra, poderia facilmente destruir tudo apenas com Sua palavra, da mesma forma que Ele afirma ter criado.   Os humanos sendo humanos, teimosos, burros, cegos, orgulhosos, gananciosos, invejosos e tolos acima de tudo, eles ainda decidiram não acreditar neste Deus; eles acham que tudo foi criado do nada por ninguém. Tudo foi criado do nada, mas alguém teve que fazê-lo vir à existência. O ponto aqui não é o tempo ou o método pelo qual tudo foi criado, mas o propósito para quem e por quem tudo veio à existência.   Se você acha que esse Deus não é justo porque vê o mal e a violência ao seu redor, adivinhe quem escolheu fazer tudo isso? Nós, os próprios humanos, o rejeitamos. Escolhemos matar tudo em nosso caminho para obter o que queremos. Não damos o devido valor ou consideração à vida ao nosso redor. Somos nós que destruímos tudo.   Se ao menos acreditássemos e seguíssemos seus caminhos. Esta vida não seria fácil; esta vida seria diferente. Quando decidimos seguir seus caminhos, não estou dizendo que tudo será perfeito e bonito, não. Já passamos desse ponto agora. Mas quando decidimos viver como Ele viveu, a vida se torna digna, não fácil porque assim como Sua vida não foi fácil, mas é digna porque Ele prometeu que se vivermos como Ele e para Ele, Ele também nos restaurará para Sua glória, sua glória eterna.    Este Deus que ama você e eu e desceu em forma humana para mostrar o quanto Ele se importa está esperando pacientemente por sua decisão. Ele decidiu esperar por você até o fim.   A vida com Ele não será fácil ou livre de problemas. Mas será cheia de alegria, esperança, paz e amor. Não são essas as coisas que todos nós desejamos? Qual deus voce escolheria dar sua lealdade? Aqueles que nós criamos ou Aquele que nos criou?
