The point of noticing the sins we have been doing is to repent. If you don’t know that you have sinned, you can’t repent. If you can’t repent, you can’t be forgiven. If you are not forgiven, you can’t be co-heir with Christ in heaven. So, because of this, Jesus Christ came to the world. This is the gospel. The good news. “…Jesus came into Galilee, proclaiming the gospel of God, and saying, “The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent and believe in the gospel” (Mark 1:14-15). Before Christ, you and I and everybody else were condemned. Why: Because no one could get it right. We can’t get anything right if not for God’s mercy. Look, Jesus was tempted because he had to prove that he could do it. He was human and God at the same time. He couldn’t let the devil win. The devil will never win. 13 “Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. 14 But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it (Matthew 7:13-14). The wide gate is this life of “do-whatever-you-want” kind of life. The narrow one is a “do-whatever-God-want” kind of life.
The world is saying that you MUST do whatever you want. You MUST take control of your life to be successful. Have you done that? How is it going? Are you doing whatever you want? Do you have control of what exactly? Because last time I checked, we don’t have control of anything. The only one who controls everything including our lives is God, the Almighty. “24 Then Jesus said to his disciples, “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me. 25 For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me will find it. 26 What good will it be for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul? Or what can anyone give in exchange for their soul? 27 For the Son of Man is going to come in his Father’s glory with his angels, and then he will reward each person according to what they have done.” Matthew 16:24-27. You gotta repent to be forgiven. See verse 25 above, which means that whatever it is you are doing for yourself, that thing you think is the most important thing ever, sorry but it is not. The most important thing you could do in your life, for your life here and after death is forget about it and turn to Jesus. Lose your life means to change it. What is hindering you? If your pride doesn’t let you repent, forget about heaven. If your memory doesn’t allow you to forgive and repent, forget about heaven. If your need for pleasure and attention doesn’t allow you to repent and forget, forget about heaven. You see… repent is to change direction. You were going to hell, doing whatever you wanted. When you decide that you want to go to heaven, you give up on your life, your lifestyle, your pride, your pleasures, and turn around and forget about all that and you will be forgiven and you’ll do whatever God wants you to do, and you will find heaven. Jesus continues saying when you lose your life for His sake, you will find it. How? You’ll have a real purpose, a destiny, a hope, an eternal life. All this won’t be for nothing. But if you think it is a waste of time, going after Jesus, yes… all this that you do here will be for nothing. Sorry for sometimes we have to be candid. Grace. The grace of God is: He will erase your past. He will give you a new life and a new future. You can reject grace. That means you have chosen judgment. So, He will have a look at your whole life, what you’ve done and haven’t done. Everything He will bring to account. Is that really what you want? God offers grace. God offers forgiveness. God offers restoration, and healing which equals Salvation. No judgment. Jesus got that part covered when He died on the cross. Some people say, “I don’t need a Savior. I don’t need Jesus”. The interesting thing is, that these people are the most needy ones. They have their lives like a mess. No family, no relationships, no perspective, hope in nothing. And yet, they don’t need a Savior. What can I say? If you say so. Jesus came down to tell us that. You worry for nothing. God has the control. God gave us an exact number of days to live and decide where we want to spend eternity. He tells us how it is going to be in both places. And by the description, 80 years is pretty much nothing compared to eternity. So, I’ll give that up, I’ll live the way God wants me to live and have a good eternity. I won’t sacrifice eternity for 40 years of pleasure, worries, anger, and disappointments. No, Sir. I won’t do that. I want my happy eternity. I’ll live my life here on this earth humbly, happy, joyful in the presence of the LORD, knowing that He is the way I chose. Remember: He loved us first, while we were yet sinners. So you are a sinner and have never repented. Know this: God loves you. He wants you to choose. Whatever you choose, He will respect. | O objetivo de perceber os pecados que cometemos é nos arrepender.
Se você não sabe que pecou, não pode se arrepender. Se você não consegue se arrepender, você não pode ser perdoado. Se você não for perdoado, não poderá ser co-herdeiro com Cristo no céu.
Então, por causa disso, Jesus Cristo veio ao mundo. Este é o evangelho. As boas notícias. “…Jesus veio para a Galiléia, proclamando o evangelho de Deus e dizendo: “O tempo está cumprido e o reino de Deus está próximo; arrependam-se e creiam no evangelho” (Marcos 1:14-15). Antes de Cristo, você, eu e todos os outros estávamos condenados. Por quê: porque ninguém conseguia acertar. Não conseguimos acertar nada se não for pela misericórdia de Deus.
Veja, Jesus foi tentado porque teve que provar que poderia fazer isso. Ele era humano e Deus ao mesmo tempo. Ele não podia deixar o diabo vencer. O diabo nunca vencerá.
13 “Entre pela porta estreita. Porque larga é a porta e espaçoso o caminho que leva à destruição, e muitos entram por ela. 14 Mas pequena é a porta e estreito o caminho que leva à vida, e poucos a encontram (Mateus 7:13-14). O portão largo é esta vida do tipo “faça o que quiser”. O estreito é um tipo de vida do tipo “faça o que Deus quiser”.
O mundo está dizendo que você DEVE fazer o que quiser. Você DEVE assumir o controle de sua vida para ter sucesso.
Você tem feito isso? Como vão as coisas? Você está fazendo o que quer? Você tem controle do que exatamente? Porque da última vez que verifiquei, não temos controle de nada. O único que controla tudo, inclusive nossas vidas, é Deus, o Todo-Poderoso.
“24 Então Jesus disse aos seus discípulos: “Quem quiser ser meu discípulo, negue-se a si mesmo, tome a sua cruz e siga-me. 25Pois quem quiser salvar a sua vida, perdê-la-á, mas quem perder a sua vida por minha causa, encontrá-la-á. 26 De que adianta alguém ganhar o mundo inteiro e perder a sua alma? Ou o que alguém pode dar em troca de sua alma? 27 Porque o Filho do Homem virá na glória de seu Pai, com os seus anjos, e então recompensará cada um de acordo com o que fez”. Mateus 16:24-27.
Você tem que se arrepender para ser perdoado. Veja o versículo 25 acima, o que significa que seja o que for que você esteja fazendo por si mesmo, aquilo que você acha que é a coisa mais importante de todas, me desculpe, mas não é. A coisa mais importante que você poderia fazer pela sua vida, aqui e depois da morte, é esquecer isso e se voltar para Jesus. Perder sua vida significa mudá-la.
O que está atrapalhando você? Se o seu orgulho não permite que você se arrependa, esqueça o céu. Se a sua memória não lhe permite perdoar e se arrepender, esqueça o céu. Se a sua necessidade de prazer e atenção não permite que você se arrependa e esqueça, esqueça o céu. Veja bem... arrepender-se é mudar de direção. Você estava indo para o inferno, fazendo o que queria. Quando você decide que quer ir para o céu, você desiste da sua vida, do seu estilo de vida, do seu orgulho, dos seus prazeres, e se vira e esquece tudo isso e você será perdoado e fará tudo o que Deus quiser e você encontrará o céu.
Jesus continua dizendo que quando você perder sua vida por causa dele, você a encontrará. Como? Você terá um propósito real, um destino, uma esperança, uma vida eterna. Tudo isso não será em vão. Mas se você acha que é perda de tempo ir atrás de Jesus, sim… tudo isso que você faz aqui será em vão.
Desculpe, às vezes temos que ser sinceros.
Graça. A graça de Deus é: Ele apagará o seu passado. Ele lhe dará uma nova vida e um novo futuro. Você pode rejeitar a graça. Isso significa que você escolheu o julgamento. Então, Ele vai dar uma olhada em toda a sua vida, no que você fez e no que deixou de fazer. Ele vai levar tudo em consideração. É isso mesmo que você quer?
Deus oferece graça. Deus oferece perdão. Deus oferece restauração e cura que equivalem à salvação. Sem julgamento. Jesus cobriu essa parte quando morreu na cruz.
Algumas pessoas dizem: “Não preciso de um Salvador. Eu não preciso de Jesus”. O interessante é que essas pessoas são as mais necessitadas. Eles têm suas vidas uma bagunça. Sem família, sem relacionamentos, sem perspectiva, sem esperança em nada. E ainda assim, eles não precisam de um Salvador. O que posso dizer? “Se você diz.”
Jesus desceu para nos dizer isso. Você se preocupa por nada. Deus tem o controle. Deus nos deu um número exato de dias para viver e decidir onde queremos passar a eternidade. Ele nos conta como será em ambos os lugares. E pela descrição, 80 anos não é nada comparado à eternidade. Então, vou desistir disso, vou viver da maneira que Deus quer que eu viva e ter uma boa eternidade. Não sacrificarei a eternidade por 40 anos de prazer, preocupações, raiva e decepções. Não senhor. Eu não farei isso. Eu quero minha eternidade feliz. Viverei minha vida aqui nesta terra humildemente, feliz, alegre na presença do SENHOR, sabendo que Ele é o caminho que escolhi. Lembre-se: Ele nos amou primeiro, quando ainda éramos pecadores. Então você é um pecador e nunca se arrependeu. Saiba isto: Deus ama você. Ele quer que você escolha. Seja qual for a sua escolha, Ele respeitará. |
