Why are you rejecting God? // Por que você rejeita Deus?

 

A couple of years ago I heard something “Christianity is offensive”. Have you thought about that?  Have you ever given thought to why you reject so firmly Christianity? Do we look too righteous for your like? Or do you think you passed to the point of no return? Do you think God doesn’t like you? Or do you hate Christianity because it shows how many flaws you have, and mistakes you have made?  Nobody likes being pointed out as “you are wrong”, “my way is better than yours”, “my God is the only one”, “Jesus is the way, the only way to God”, “He is the Truth. The only one”.   Funny thing has happened lately. Everybody wants to hold the truth. The Truth is not relative.    Let’s give an example: I say, the sky is blue. Can you agree that is true? If someone comes around and says, in my eyes the sky is green. I see a green sky. What would you say about this person? At least, I would say, very politely (or not), go see a doctor. Clearly, your brain is playing tricks on you (like Green Day used to say).   What is true cannot be relativized. There is not my truth and your truth. What there is, is a different point of view. If you don’t accept the truth, who am I to impose? I don’t like impositions either.  But, imagine in court. What is the judge after? The truth. Can you imagine if a lawyer comes with this speech about the truth is relative? Dude, better find another lawyer.    Christianity points out our wrongdoings. Christianity says what a real God is like.  God loves us so much that He doesn’t want us to keep being the same stubborn, He wants to make you better. But sin is good. It is good this life, is it really? Do you really like what is going on in your life, in your mind? You see, our God promises good things and punishments. Everything we do comes with a price. Come with an outcome. This is the law of Physics, is it not? Every action comes with a reaction. If you sow grapes, you cannot reap strawberries. See why people don’t like Christianity? Because our God is true and just. People want to keep doing what is bad and wrong without reaping the consequences. That is not how God designed the world. His law is clear. His way is only one: Jesus.  God is good, so good that if you really reject Him, he’ll let you go. Except to His house.  You cannot expect to go to heaven if you reject the owner, can you? What other way do you expect to go to heaven? Through the back door? No way. Romans 10: 8 – 10 says, “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart (that is the word of faith that we proclaim); because if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God has raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart, one believes and is justified, and with the mouth, one confesses and is saved…13 For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”   When you read the Bible you’ll see that all sorts of people are in there; there is only one perfect though: Jesus. The rest were sinners just like you and me.    Pastor Skip Heitzig said, “If you are born once, you’ll die twice; but if you are born twice, you’ll die once”. Meaning, when you decide for Jesus you are born again. You will be a new creation. Therefore, only this fragile body will die, your spirit will live forever. If you choose not to be born again, this body of yours will die, and your spirit will forever be apart from God as you wished for, having your forever punishment.   What is your other option? What other God is there to give you a new life? If you have never tasted something how can you say it is bad?

Há alguns anos ouvi algo “O Cristianismo é ofensivo”. Você já pensou sobre isso? Você já pensou por que rejeita tão firmemente o Cristianismo? Parecemos muito certinhos para você? Ou você acha que passou ao ponto sem retorno? Você acha que Deus não gosta de você? Ou você odeia o Cristianismo porque mostra quantas falhas você tem e quantos erros você cometeu? Ninguém gosta de ser apontado como “você está errado”, “meu caminho é melhor que o seu”, “meu Deus é o único”, “Jesus é o caminho, o único caminho para Deus”, “Ele é a Verdade. A única".   Uma coisa engraçada acontece ultimamente. Todo mundo quer ser o dono da verdade. A Verdade não é relativa.   Vamos dar um exemplo: eu digo, o céu é azul. Você concorda que isso é verdade? Se alguém chega e diz, aos meus olhos o céu é verde. Vejo um céu verde. O que você diria sobre essa pessoa? Pelo menos, eu diria, muito educadamente (ou não), vá ao médico. Claramente, seu cérebro está pregando peças em você (como o Green Day costumava dizer).   O que é verdade não pode ser relativizado. Não existe a minha verdade e a sua verdade. O que existe é um ponto de vista diferente. Se você não aceita a verdade, quem sou eu para impor? Também não gosto de imposições. Mas, imagine no tribunal. O que o juiz busca? A verdade. Já imaginou se um advogado vier com esse discurso de que a verdade é relativa? Cara, é melhor procurar outro advogado.   O Cristianismo aponta nossos erros. O Cristianismo diz como Deus é. Deus nos ama tanto que não quer que continuemos sendo os mesmos teimosos, Ele quer fazer você melhor. Mas o pecado é bom. Esta vida é boa, é mesmo? Você realmente gosta do que está acontecendo em sua vida, em sua mente? Veja, nosso Deus promete coisas boas e punições. Tudo o que fazemos tem um preço. Vem com um resultado. Esta é a lei da Física, não é? Toda ação vem com uma reação. Se você semear uvas, não poderá colher morangos. Veja por que as pessoas não gostam do Cristianismo? Porque o nosso Deus é verdadeiro e justo. As pessoas querem continuar fazendo o que é ruim e errado sem colher as consequências. Não foi assim que Deus projetou o mundo. Sua lei é clara. Seu caminho é um só: Jesus. Deus é bom, tão bom que se você realmente rejeitá-lo, ele o deixará ir. Exceto para Sua casa. Você não pode esperar ir para o céu se rejeitar o dono, não é? De que outra maneira você espera ir para o céu? Pela porta dos fundos? Sem chance. Romanos 10: 8-10 diz: “A palavra está perto de você, na sua boca e no seu coração (essa é a palavra da fé que proclamamos); porque se você confessar com a sua boca que Jesus é Senhor e crer em seu coração que Deus o ressuscitou dentre os mortos, você será salvo. Porque com o coração se crê e é justificado, e com a boca se confessa e se salva…13 Pois todo aquele que invocar o nome do Senhor será salvo”.   Quando você lê a Bíblia, você verá que todo tipo de pessoa está lá; porém, só há um perfeito: Jesus. O resto eram pecadores como você e eu. O pastor Skip Heitzig disse: “Se você nascer uma vez, morrerá duas vezes; mas se você nascer duas vezes, morrerá uma vez”. Ou seja, quando você decide por Jesus você nasce de novo. Você será uma nova criação. Portanto, somente este corpo frágil morrerá, seu espírito viverá para sempre. Se você escolher não nascer de novo, este seu corpo morrerá, e seu espírito ficará para sempre separado de Deus como você desejou, tendo seu castigo eterno.   Qual é a sua outra opção? Que outro Deus existe para lhe dar uma nova vida? Se você nunca provou algo, como pode dizer que é ruim?
