Hi, Happy New Year! I hope your 2024 will be way better than your 2023. I know mine will. I also have made some resolutions for this year. I have decided to read, actually read, not listen to the Bible, like I did most of last year. Why? Because reading requires you to sit, take some time apart, and focus. And I need to be closer to God. I need to hear his voice. You may wonder why some Christians (I wish I could say all Christians) read the Bible, the whole Bible, every year. Isn’t it the same Book? It is, and it is not. It depends on how you read it, your intentions, your will. And who in the world can memorize it? So, yes. The true Christian reads the Bible every day, and every day, something new may be highlighted for him. It is an adventure to decide to read the whole Bible in a year. I dare you to do it. I wish I could know what difference it made in your life by the end of the year. Anyway… this morning, I read Psalm 2. And it reminded me of our wars. But I was comforted because I knew the end of the story, the world’s story. And the end of each one of our stories, too. Since the beginning God made it clear to all who wants to hear. I don’t live in darkness, I don’t live with anxiety, I know God wins, so all those who sided with him. “Psalm 2 – The messiah’s triumph and kingdom 1 Why do the nations conspire and the peoples plot in vain? 2 The kings of the earth rise up and the rulers band together against the Lord and against his anointed, saying, 3“Let us break their chains and throw off their shackles.”
4 The One enthroned in heaven laughs; the Lord scoffs at them. 5 He rebukes them in his anger and terrifies them in his wrath, saying, 6“I have installed my king on Zion, my holy mountain.”
7 I will proclaim the Lord’s decree: He said to me, “You are my Son; today I have become your father. 8 Ask me, and I will make the nations your inheritance, the ends of the earth your possession. 9 You will break them with a rod of iron; you will dash them to pieces like pottery.”
10 Therefore, you kings, be wise; be warned, you rulers of the earth. 11 Serve the Lord with fear and celebrate his rule with trembling. 12 Kiss his Son, or He will be angry and your way will lead to your destruction, for his wrath can flare up in a moment. Blessed are all who take refuge in him. (NIV) I really want to make this clear, read now in this paraphrasing Bible called: The Message Psalm 2 1-6Why the big noise, nations? Why the mean plots, peoples? Earth-leaders push for position, Demagogues and delegates meet for summit talks, The God-deniers, the Messiah-defiers: “Let’s get free of God! Cast loose from Messiah!” Heaven-throned God breaks out laughing. At first he’s amused at their presumption; Then he gets good and angry. Furiously, he shuts them up: “Don’t you know there’s a King in Zion? A coronation banquet Is spread for him on the holy summit.” 7-9Let me tell you what God said next. He said, “You’re my son, And today is your birthday. What do you want? Name it: Nations as a present? continents as a prize? You can command them all to dance for you, Or throw them out with tomorrow’s trash.” 10-12So, rebel-kings, use your heads; Upstart-judges, learn your lesson: Worship God in adoring embrace, Celebrate in trembling awe. Kiss Messiah! Your very lives are in danger, you know; His anger is about to explode, But if you make a run for God—you won’t regret it!
All these wars that are happening right now set the stage for what is to come. The LORD warns everyone who wants to hear. “Be wise”. God is laughing with HAMAS and all the wicked people who dare to rise against His people. Don’t lose hope. God wrote this story. Have you read it? That is why Christians read their Bible, because we are following the story, God’s story. “Be wise, be warned… and serve the LORD with fear and celebrate his rule with trembling.” He will come again as a Mighty King; no one can stand, and He will rule the world. Things will happen even if you fight against them. Jesus will come as a Judge. He will destroy all wicked people on earth, all who sided against Him. The time is almost up. Be wise, be warned. Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with that person, and they with me. (Rev 3:20). | Oi, Feliz Ano Novo! Espero que o seu 2024 seja muito melhor do que o seu 2023. Sei que o meu será. Também fiz algumas resoluções para este ano. Decidi ler, realmente ler, e não ouvir a Bíblia, como fiz na maior parte do ano passado. Por que? Porque ler exige que você se sente, reserve um tempo e se concentre. E preciso estar mais perto de Deus. Preciso ouvir a voz dele. Você pode se perguntar por que alguns cristãos (eu gostaria de poder dizer todos os cristãos) leem a Bíblia, a Bíblia inteira, todos os anos. Não é o mesmo livro? É, e não é. Depende de como você lê, suas intenções, seus desejos. E quem no mundo pode memorizá-la?
Então sim. O verdadeiro cristão lê a Bíblia todos os dias, e todos os dias algo novo pode ser destacado para ele. É uma aventura decidir ler a Bíblia inteira em um ano. Eu te desafio a fazer isso. Eu gostaria de saber que diferença isso fez em sua vida até o final do ano.
Enfim… esta manhã li o Salmo 2. E isso me lembrou de nossas guerras. Mas fiquei consolada porque conhecia o fim da história, a história do mundo. E o final de cada uma de nossas histórias também. Desde o princípio Deus deixou claro para todos que querem ouvir. Não vivo na escuridão, não vivo com ansiedade, sei que Deus vence,e todos aqueles que ficaram do lado dele.

1 Por que as nações conspiram e os povos conspiram em vão? 2 Os reis da terra se levantam e os governantes se unem contra o Senhor e contra o seu ungido, dizendo: 3“Quebremos suas correntes e livre-se de suas algemas.”
4 Aquele que está entronizado nos céus ri; o Senhor zomba deles. 5 Ele os repreende em sua ira e os aterroriza na sua ira, dizendo: 6“Eu instalei meu rei em Sião, meu santo monte.”
7 Proclamarei o decreto do Senhor: Ele me disse: “Tu és meu Filho; hoje eu me tornei seu pai. 8 Pergunte-me, e farei das nações sua herança, os confins da terra são sua possessão. 9 Tu os quebrarás com vara de ferro; você os despedaçará como se fossem cerâmica.”

Todas essas guerras que estão acontecendo agora preparam o cenário para o que está por vir. O SENHOR avisa a todos que querem ouvir. "Seja sábio". Deus está rindo com o HAMAS e todas as pessoas más que ousam se levantar contra o Seu povo. Não perca a esperança. Deus escreveu esta história. Você a leu? É por isso que os cristãos leem a sua Bíblia, porque estamos acompanhando a história, a história de Deus. “Sejam sábios, estejam avisados… e sirvam ao Senhor com temor e celebrem seu governo com tremor.” Ele virá novamente como um Rei Poderoso; ninguém pode resistir, e Ele governará o mundo. As coisas acontecerão mesmo se você lutar contra elas. Jesus virá como Juiz. Ele destruirá todas as pessoas más da terra, todos os que se posicionaram contra Ele. O tempo está quase acabando. Seja sábio, esteja avisado. Eis que estou asua porta e bato. Se alguém ouvir a minha voz e abrir a porta, entrarei em sua casa e cearei com ele, e ele comigo (Ap 3:20). |
