Fear // Medo

Today I heard some amazing sentences, inspiring sentences.
  •   We are the biggest blocking stone to become what God wants us to be.
  • There is no denial of courage. You deny that that reality has authority over you.
  •  God let us choose how to do what is the calling you have, you can do it joyfully, or you can do it angrily, resenting and complaining.
  •  Conditional faith isn’t faith.
  •  We’ll never be victorious if we face things with fear.
  • The enemy knows your fear, and he is going to threaten you over and over again.
  • The hardest command in the Bible is “Don’t be afraid”, “Fear not”.
  • No one was borne brave. It is a call to be brave.

Esther 4:13 – 16. You need to know that God’s plan will come true with or without you. It’s your choice if you’re going to do what He is calling you to do, and How you are going to do it. If you decide not to follow through, God will find someone else, and what are you going to do with your conscience? Or you can choose to do it, how -  is the question.

There is no doubt in Esther’s story that she was afraid. She was afraid of death. Where did she find her courage to go before the king without being summoned? Verse 16 – she invited the Jews to join her in prayer and fasting and then she said, “If I perish, I perish”. What was more important in that moment for Esther? Was her life that she hold it dearly? Was her love for her people? Or the fact that the chance of their survival would be slim? What happened to Esther that made she say, ‘If I perish, I perish’?

Would you have said that? Do we know what the future holds for us? What if that is it? What if your call is just that? I don’t know that, neither do you.

The circumstances, the consequences and the fear didn’t stop her. She was still afraid. The threat was real. There was an actual chance that just because she dared to go before the king without being summoned she could be put to death.
Fear, paralyze us. Have you seen an animal with fear? They freeze and they become aggressive. We become paralyzed; we can’t think straight; we don’t make sense; we do also paralyze. The fear takes over our thoughts, our emotions, our behavior, and our faith.

What are you afraid of?
Of the death? Your death? Sorry but that will happen doesn't matter what you do. Better start enjoying life while you can.
Are you afraid of the death of some relative? Of your son’s? Of the end of your marriage? Of failing? of getting hurt?

Those aren’t important questions, because there are real possibilities of happening. The important question is: And then what?
Esther said, ‘If I perish, I perish’.
How big is your God who is saying ‘Fear not’?

Is He big enough to lead you into green pasture even when you are afraid?
Then what if he dies? The what if he leaves you? The what the diagnosis is confirmed? Then what if she hurts you? Then what if you hurt her? What are you going to do?
What is stopping you to follow through?

Esther had a choice.
Esther faced the fear.
Esther took the courage she was offered.

Hoje ouvi algumas frases incríveis, frases inspiradoras.

I see Grace in the time of the Law // Eu vejo Graça no tempo da Lei

People frequently say that the Old Testament is the time of the law, and now we are under the Grace of God. Surprisingly, I just found out an explicit act of the Grace of God in the Old Testament. As I read chapter 9 of Deuteronomy , in which has a title Not because of Righteousness (ESV). I am stunned to see verses 4 - 6, they say: “ Do not say in your heart , after the Lord your God has thrust them out before you, ‘ It is because of my righteousness that the Lord has brought me in to possess this land,’ whereas it is because of the wickedness of these nations that the Lord is driving them out before you. 5 Not because of your righteousness or the uprightness of your heart are you going in to possess their land, but because of the wickedness of these nations the Lord your God is driving them out from before you, and that he may confirm the word that the Lord swore to your fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob.6 “Know, therefore, that the Lord your God is not giving y...

No "trouble-free" card for you // Nenhum cartão "livre-de-problemas" para você

The Word of the Lord is beautiful and true. In there, you find so many poems. This is the form the Bible authors chose to communicate the Word of the LORD, and it is profound. I’ve been listening to the Bible Project podcast for more than a year now. Lately, they are covering the theme of “The Wilderness”. Now, everywhere I read in the Scripture, I see something related to it. It is amazing. I am now in the book of the prophet Isaiah, chapter 43. And guess what? It is wonderful. Just in the first few verses, you find that God is telling His people that it doesn’t matter what sort of hardship they are going through, He, the Creator, will deliver them. Actually, it is said like this: “When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, nor shall the flame scorch you. For I am the LORD your God, The Holy One of Israel, your Savior....

The oppressive urge to speak // A necessidade opressiva de falar

Should I keep quiet forever? Is silence that bad? Can’t I stand my own thoughts that I need to say out loud? What kind of thoughts come to my mind? Are they generally good or bad? If I choose to speak up, to whom would it benefit? If anyone ever. Let me be clear: It is better not to say a word than say words that will do more harm than good. What if it is the truth? I ask, why would you say it? How would you say it? The truth will come out eventually. You don’t need to lie or be rude. What we must do is to be kind. If I tell you the truth in a harsh way, will you accept, or will you only hear the harsh sound of my voice and ignore completely what I was trying to say? Sometimes, not even the kindest words won’t make it through because the listener isn’t listening at all. The listener doesn’t care about your opinion, doesn’t care about others. The listener just cares about himself. The listener just wants to say w...
