Quarentine // Quaretena

In times of fear and despair, what can we do to ease our minds? Can we feel safe? Can we be without fear and have peace? In my opinion, we can. It depends on where you have your hope.
The feeling of safeness or security doesn’t come from how much food you have in my pantry.

Many might be asking where is God in the midst of this pandemic season? I answer that with another question. Have you thought about this pandemic as a gift of God to the planet?

Remember, we were told that we would have less than 20 years before the world is a very hard place to live in due to climate changes. But as the people are giving this time to the earth restore, the pollution has decreased, we may have bought some extra time on the earth.

Although people emptied the supermarkets that I wonder what is gonna happen when all those things they bought become trash, all practically at the same time? It may have not been worth it this time that earth had as restoration.

Some cities in China have seen a blue sky for the first time in years, can you imagine that?

Of course, I feel sorry for the deceases. But what does it mean for you to buy some extra time on earth be the price of life?

There is this story that many people take a long time to believe. Jesus’ story. God’s begotten Son has died so He, the Father, would not destroy the world. Sometimes someone must die so others can live. Did we deserve His sacrifice? No. Do these people deserve to die by a coronavirus, so the earth could be restored a little bit and you and I have a little more time alive? Not.
But it is happening. Let’s live our lives thinking about those two sacrifices made for us. One died so our souls would not perish in eternal damnation. The other, thousands of people who have died and yet those who will die so the planet would slow down and nature could breathe a little longer, consequently, we too.

“For God so loved the world, that HE gave his only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life” John 3:16.
Take care of those who a vulnerable.
Remember Jesus, remember it was for love. He didn’t need to do that. He loved us first, when we were yet his enemies, when we were yet terrible sinners, lovers of sin. He still did. He still went through all that torture for our sins, all because of love.

Love your planet. And also Love your soul
Love the creator, it doesn’t matter if you’re evolutionist or creationist. The fact is: THERE IS a planet, doesn’t matter the process of its creation, what matter is the God is the creator.
We are Earth’s steward. This is our home for a while. Let’s take care of it.

So, how do I have peace of mind? Because my hope comes from the LORD. This is my prayer: "In your righteousness deliver me and rescue me;
    incline your ear to me, and save me!
3 Be to me a rock of refuge,
    to which I may continually come;
you have given the command to save me,
    for you are my rock and my fortress.
For you, O Lord, are my hope,
    my trust, O Lord, from my youth. (Psalms 71:2-3, 5)

Now I make Paul's words, mine.
Romans 15:13 - 15
13 Our hope comes from God. May He fill you with joy and peace because of your trust in Him. May your hope grow stronger by the power of the Holy Spirit.
14 I am sure you are wise in all things and full of much good. You are able to help and teach each other. 15 I have written to you with strong words about some things. I have written so you would remember. God helped me write like this. (NVL)

Vamos cuidar dela.

Então, como eu tenho paz de espírito? Porque minha esperança vem do SENHOR. Esta é a minha oração: "2 Resgata-me e livra-me por tua justiça;
    para onde eu sempre possa ir;
dá ordem para que me libertem,
    pois és a minha rocha
    e a minha fortaleza.
(Salmos 71:2-3, 5)

Agora eu faço as palavras do Paul, as minhas.

Romanos 15:13 - 15

Pointing finger // Apontar o dedo

Recently I was studying the Sermon on the mount in a bible study at the church. It was wonderful to meditate and go deep in these Jesus’ words. So many details we sometimes don’t realize. We are very quick to see the flaws and failures of others. But interestingly the things we see faster in others are probably the things we don’t see or won’t see in ourselves. It is easy to point a finger when someone is, for example, throwing trash on the streets, when one doesn’t even bother to do the same at home. In Brazil, we have this saying “blacksmith’s house, woodpecker.” Who are you to point a finger to anyone when you yourself cannot do better? Your sin is no smaller than his. Jesus said, “Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? ( Matthew 7 :3). Look, sawdust is something small, and plank or log is something much bigger than sawdust. Sometimes we are able to see something very insignificant in othe...

Are you lost? // Você está perdido?

Você está perdido? There is always this time in life when we are certain about what to do with our lives. We have a goal, and an objective to reach. However, it is often that life turns the other way around and our plans are made nothing. Frequently I hear people say, “I am lost, I don’t know what to do!” That happens when we put our goals into something that changes. Everything in this world change. You and I are changing by the minute. My thoughts right now are running like crazy, and if I don’t set a goal in something that doesn’t change, I can’t do anything. What is it?   Jesus. The word of God. You might think I am crazy, and lunatic or even a fanatic. But who really knows me, know that I am none of those things. I am a very sensible person who has lived and experienced many things. And I don’t lie. So, if you are experiencing a sense of loss and despair, how about putting your hope in the One who cannot change whatsoever. If you lost...

Come and See + Judge correctly // Venha e Veja + Julgue corretamente

Venha e Veja   Two verses stood out for me this morning. John 7:17-18 and 7:24.   “ Anyone who chooses to do the will of God will find out whether my teaching comes from God or whether I speak on my own.   18  Whoever speaks on their own does so to gain personal glory, but he who seeks the glory of the one who sent him is a man of truth; there is nothing false about him.” John 7:24 “ Stop judging by mere appearances, but instead judge correctly.”   That was Jesus talking.  I lately heard that some people with vast knowledge of the Bible (we all want to believe) are being led astray through the vain doctrines of this world. Meaning, that some church leaders or people have earned the people's trust by telling them lies about the teachings of the Bible. People seek their own popularity by agreeing with the lies the world has offered them.  I have seen churches with flags and teaching doctrines that the Bible condemns. They have twisted the ...
