Circumstances can't hinder // Circunstâncias não podem atrapalhar

In Romans 4:18 – 22, Paul was explaining to the Romans that salvation has always been about faith in God and not about following the law. He gave Abraham as an example. The revealing verse for me today was v.19 ‘He (Abraham) did not weaken in faith when he considered his own body, which was as good as dead (since he was about 100 years old) or when he considered the barrenness of Sarah’s womb’. v.21 ‘fully convinced that God was able to do what He had promised’. What a punch in the stomach! How Abraham got that kind of faith? Look around him, there wasn’t a way for him to have a kid in that age, was there? Humanly speaking, no. But since he knew about God, he crossed-out all circumstances that told him that. For the God who created all things that exist, what is a 100-yrs-old man + a barren woman? He might have thought “piece of cake! This is the God responsible for creating the sun, the universe, the men, Oh yeah! He can totally do it. He can absolutely give me a son”. There is no bad circumstance for God. He only had to say, ‘Let there be light’! And there it was – light! How can my current, your current situation be a hindering thing for God? It can’t. It isn’t possible. But, if you want to see His glory, all his power like on IMAX screen you and I must believe. God isn’t smaller because what you’ve asked didn’t happen. Your faith is what is lacking. You say you can’t change who you are. That’s 100% correct. You can’t. God can change who you are. God can make you new. “Therefore, if ANYONE IS IN CHRIST, he is a new creation. The old has passed away, behold, the new has come” (2 Corinthians 5:17). Your only excuse to keep being the same stubborn, arrogant, lazy, prideful, rude, gossiper, judger, gambler or whatever, is your lack of faith in God. Through your faith in Christ, who has died for you so you can have a new life, you can totally have a new life. Of course, it may take a while sometimes, but progressively it will happen. He (Christ) will be with you, strengthening you in every step of the way. But if you keep hiding behind your excuses “I’ve always been this way” or “I’m too old to change”, “I’m not worth it”… Confess that either you like being this way and don’t want to change or you don’t believe God can do something about it. It isn’t your circumstances the problem. It is your lack of faith. You may live your whole life being a churchgoer, and yet you don’t have the guts to admit that you don’t believe. Confess and ask God to work in your heart, to give you faith, so you can enjoy His blessings. I’m talking about the way you and I are. I’m not talking about things we can’t accomplish, material or earthly things. This is another faith department and relationship with God. First things first. God likes working from inside out, meaning that first, you need to want the change of heart, mind, and behavior then we see if we really need the earthly things. God will bless you and me in every way. But it has to start from the heart. Don’t even think about how sinful you have been, or how righteous you are. “No one can be so bad that God could not, or would not reach them, nor too good that they don’t need to be reached by God’s grace”. We all have sinned (Romans 3:23), we all need His grace. Let’s confess, repent (that is a change of heart) and believe. So, we may see His glory!

Em Romanos 4:18 - 22, Paulo estava explicando aos romanos que a salvação sempre foi sobre fé em Deus e não sobre seguir a lei. Ele deu Abraão como um exemplo. O verso revelador para mim hoje foi v.19 'Ele (Abraão) não enfraqueceu na fé quando considerou seu próprio corpo, que estava tão bom quanto morto (uma vez que ele tinha cerca de 100 anos) ou quando ele considerou a esterilidade de Sarah. 'v.21' totalmente convencido de que Deus era capaz de fazer o que Ele havia prometido '. Que soco no estômago! Como Abraão adquiriu esse tipo de fé? Olhe em volta dele, não havia como ele ter um filho naquela idade, havia? Humanamente falando, não. Mas desde que ele conhecia Deus, ele riscou todas as circunstâncias que lhe disseram isso. Para o Deus que criou todas as coisas que existem, o que é um homem de 100 anos + uma mulher estéril? Ele poderia ter pensado "fácil”! Este é o Deus responsável por criar o sol, o universo, os homens, oh yeah! Ele com certeza pode fazer isso. Ele pode absolutamente me dar um filho”. Não há más circunstâncias para Deus. Ele só tinha que dizer: "Haja luz"! E lá estava - luz! Como a minha ou a sua situação atual pode ser uma coisa dificultosa para Deus? Não pode. Não é possível. Mas, se você quiser ver a Sua glória, todo o seu poder como numa tela IMAX você e eu devemos acreditar. Deus não é menor porque o que você pediu não aconteceu. Sua fé é o que está faltando. Você diz que não pode mudar quem você é. Isso é 100% correto. Você não pode. Deus pode mudar quem você é. Deus pode te fazer você novo. “Portanto, SE ALGUÉM ESTÁ EM CRISTO, ele é uma nova criação. O velho passou, eis que vem o novo”(2 Coríntios 5:17). Sua única desculpa para continuar sendo o mesmo teimoso, arrogante, preguiçoso, orgulhoso, rude, fofoqueiro, julgador, jogador ou o que quer que seja, é sua falta de fé em Deus. Através da sua fé em Cristo, que morreu por você para que você possa ter uma nova vida, você pode ter uma vida totalmente nova. Claro, pode demorar um pouco, às vezes, mas progressivamente vai acontecer. Ele (Cristo) estará com você, fortalecendo você em cada passo do caminho. Mas se você continuar se escondendo atrás de suas desculpas "Eu sempre fui assim" ou "Eu sou velho demais para mudar", "Eu não valho a pena" ... Confesse que ou você gosta de ser assim e não quer para mudar ou você não acredita que Deus pode fazer algo sobre isso. Não são as suas circunstâncias o problema. É a sua falta de fé.Você pode viver toda a sua vida sendo frequentador da igreja, e ainda assim não tem coragem de admitir que não acredita. Confesse e peça a Deus para trabalhar em seu coração, para lhe dar fé, para que você possa desfrutar de Suas bênçãos. Eu estou falando sobre o jeito que você e eu somos. Eu não estou falando sobre coisas que não podemos realizar, coisas materiais ou terrenas. Este é outro departamento de fé e relacionamento com Deus. Primeiras coisas primeiro. Deus gosta de trabalhar de dentro para fora, o que significa que, primeiro, você precisa da mudança no coração, mente e comportamento, então, vemos se realmente precisamos das coisas terrenas. Deus abençoará você e eu em todos os sentidos. Mas tem que começar do coração. Nem pense em quão pecador você tem sido ou quão justo você é. "Ninguém pode ser tão mal que Deus não pudesse, ou não os alcançasse, nem tão bom que não precisassem ser alcançados pela graça de Deus". Todos nós pecamos (Romanos 3:23), todos nós precisamos da Sua graça. Vamos confessar, arrepender-se (isso é uma mudança de atitude) e acreditar. Então, podemos ver a Sua glória!
