Ele te vê // He sees you

Ele conseguiu. Ele tirou o povo do Egito.

Ajuda-me a ouvir a sua voz; ajuda-me a confiar em Ti todo o tempo. Em nome de Jesus, amém.

Have you noticed how detailed God described the tabernacle to Moses? What can you and I learn from it? We mostly read this part in a hurry because they are so detailed and we are not going to build any tabernacle, right?

But, what does it reveal God’s character?
God is a God of perfection, details. If you are from biomedical area or biology you can certainly notice the complexity of nature, human body or even physics and chemistry. They are all so perfect. That no creature would ever be able to replicate them from scratch.
Look around. Do you think nature is ugly? Do you think the way the human body works is ugly? No way! It is just perfect.

Moses thought he knew himself until God told him what to do. Moses thought he couldn’t do it. (Exodus 4:1 – 17) He saw himself with so many “imperfections”; but God knew him better than Moses himself. Now, look how far he went. He made it. He got the people out of Egypt. In Moses' head, that he couldn’t do it, that is right, but with God by his side, he made it. God was there making all the Egyptians know who God is, the Lord. Moses trusted in God; God was with him. Even when Moses had to put up with the people.  Moses might have doubted himself because the people weren’t so sure, but God was the one who picked Moses out of the wilderness. God knew him better. God made Moses stand firm in front of the people and deal with them strongly. God knew Moses from inside out. He knows how to use Moses, you and I to his own purposes.

Are you letting Him? Or you are giving Him the same lame excuses the Moses gave? (Exodus 4:1 – 17) Or are you grumbling about what you think you know about yourself? Let Him guide you through. It wasn’t easy for Moses going back to Egypt, the place he had fled from, meeting a people, a family he didn’t know. Going back to Egypt to face Pharaoh (not easy!); Being rejected (not easy!); listening to the people putting doubts in his mind (not easy!); listening people complaining about everything (not easy!)

It wasn’t an easy task at all! But he did. Why? Because God had said He would be with him all the way. God said, “Fear not, I’m with you”. Can you imagine that?
God is saying that to you all the time. Right now, He is saying that. Do you believe Him? Are you ready to listen to His voice calling you, “Moses, Moses”?

Let’s pray: Lord, thank you for being with me all the time, even though not always I’m attentive to you. Help me to listen to your voice; help me to trust in you all the way. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

I see Grace in the time of the Law // Eu vejo Graça no tempo da Lei

People frequently say that the Old Testament is the time of the law, and now we are under the Grace of God. Surprisingly, I just found out an explicit act of the Grace of God in the Old Testament. As I read chapter 9 of Deuteronomy , in which has a title Not because of Righteousness (ESV). I am stunned to see verses 4 - 6, they say: “ Do not say in your heart , after the Lord your God has thrust them out before you, ‘ It is because of my righteousness that the Lord has brought me in to possess this land,’ whereas it is because of the wickedness of these nations that the Lord is driving them out before you. 5 Not because of your righteousness or the uprightness of your heart are you going in to possess their land, but because of the wickedness of these nations the Lord your God is driving them out from before you, and that he may confirm the word that the Lord swore to your fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob.6 “Know, therefore, that the Lord your God is not giving y...

No "trouble-free" card for you // Nenhum cartão "livre-de-problemas" para você

The Word of the Lord is beautiful and true. In there, you find so many poems. This is the form the Bible authors chose to communicate the Word of the LORD, and it is profound. I’ve been listening to the Bible Project podcast for more than a year now. Lately, they are covering the theme of “The Wilderness”. Now, everywhere I read in the Scripture, I see something related to it. It is amazing. I am now in the book of the prophet Isaiah, chapter 43. And guess what? It is wonderful. Just in the first few verses, you find that God is telling His people that it doesn’t matter what sort of hardship they are going through, He, the Creator, will deliver them. Actually, it is said like this: “When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, nor shall the flame scorch you. For I am the LORD your God, The Holy One of Israel, your Savior....

The oppressive urge to speak // A necessidade opressiva de falar

Should I keep quiet forever? Is silence that bad? Can’t I stand my own thoughts that I need to say out loud? What kind of thoughts come to my mind? Are they generally good or bad? If I choose to speak up, to whom would it benefit? If anyone ever. Let me be clear: It is better not to say a word than say words that will do more harm than good. What if it is the truth? I ask, why would you say it? How would you say it? The truth will come out eventually. You don’t need to lie or be rude. What we must do is to be kind. If I tell you the truth in a harsh way, will you accept, or will you only hear the harsh sound of my voice and ignore completely what I was trying to say? Sometimes, not even the kindest words won’t make it through because the listener isn’t listening at all. The listener doesn’t care about your opinion, doesn’t care about others. The listener just cares about himself. The listener just wants to say w...
